The big news this year is a dramatic price cut on all 2016 Buick Regal models. The GS trim, for example, is cut by nearly $3,000 with no loss of content. Apple’s CarPlay can now seamlessly integrate an iPhone with the Regal’s IntelliLink system, which features new screens and revised controls.

For 2014, the Regal gets freshened front and rear styling, updated interiors, enhanced connectivity and infotainment, new safety features, a new version of the standard 2.0-liter turbocharged engines, a new electric power steering system, and the addition of an all-wheel-drive option.

For 2013, the Regal line packaging is simplified slightly, with the 2.4-liter eAssist mild hybrid 4-cylinder becoming the base engine. Buick's IntelliLink smart-phone integration system is now standard on all Regals. A few new paint colors join the palette, though color choices on the GS remain limited.

Two new variants join the 2012 Buick Regal sedan lineup. First is the Regal eAssist hybrid that uses a small electric motor attached to a lithium-ion battery pack to assist the 2.4-liter gasoline engine. The second addition is the stellar opposite of the hybrid, taking the form of a 270-horsepower sport sedan dubbed the Buick Regal GS (Grand Sport). Other changes of note include E85 capability on the 2.4-liter engine and the addition of Buick's IntelliLink Bluetooth-enabled infotainment system (late availability) to all Regal models.

About Buick Regal

Buick’s Regal sedan for 2016 appeals to savvy buyers with its reasonable size, fuel-efficient engine lineup and impressive array of technology. Among the Regal’s highlights are its 4G LTE connectivity, built-in Wi-Fi hotspot (requires a monthly fee) and Siri Eyes Free and CarPlay technology that permits seamless integration with Apple’s iPhone voice-recognition feature. This level of gear is usually found on luxury cars such as the Audi A4, Volkswagen CC and Acura’s TLX, but with the 2016 Buick Regal, customers get all this plus a European-inspired chassis, compliments of GM’s Opel car division. Three distinct models include a mild hybrid with eAssist, the base car and the sporty Regal GS, the latter two offered with available all-wheel drive.

"Bought the T07 Turbo (loaded) in March of this year. Navigation system is second to none. The 19" painted cast aluminum wheels really make the exterior come alive. The touring and sport suspension modes really make the car two cars in one. While the car is not the fastest turbo around, the fuel mileage and fit and finish are equivalent to any high end German import. No driver seat memory function and outside mirrors are a little smaller than I prefer, but everything else is a homerun. Great trunk space and convenience features. I have owned 14 new vehicles and was about ready to buy an Acura TSX when I got my wife to go to the Buick showroom. We drove home with out Regal Turbo that night. Car drives and looks like a $50,000 luxury vehicle and we were out the door for about $32,800.00. NO REGRETS"

"Everything about this car is excellent. I rated performance a 4 because no v8 power but it is still very good and very fun to drive! The quaility of this car is second to none in my book. Reliability is excellent so far but I've only had it a month. Buick does recommend premium fuel. Mine is the turbo with the T05 package."

"No matter what angle I look at this car from, this car has style. I love the size and the way it feels when I drive it. I've owned a Tacoma, Accord Coupe, Jetta, Legacy, but this car has surpassed my expectations. Overall I love this car and would get this car again if I got the chance of making a choice again...I just hope it ends up having a durable lifespan (pay it of before it starts giving issues). As a young professional I say its an excellent car!"
