As the newest version of its most popular sedan, there's a lot riding on the new 2017 Audi A4. Good thing Audi nailed it. The new Audi A4 is packed full of cutting-edge and class-exclusive technology, like a customizable instrument display that shows not just gauges, but Google maps and directions. The new adaptive cruise control is integrated with GPS so it automatically slows the car as you approach a turn. But even without the electronic wizardry, the new Audi A4 would be a worthy competitor against the likes of the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Cadillac ATS and other competitors. The powerful engine, available all-wheel drive and sharp driving dynamics make this car fun no matter what.
The 2017 Audi A4 is all-new, with sharpened styling, high-tech options, a more powerful engine, and a ton of other innovations that make it a contender for best-in-class, and maybe the outright title holder.
Audi’s A4 and S4 sedans for 2016 receive a few upgrades including a standard 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel on the entry-level Premium trim, a Bang & Olufsen sound system added to the Technology package on Premium Plus trims and new 19-inch wheels for the S line competition plus package.
Audi’s A4 and S4 for 2015 receive a number of minor improvements, the highlights of which include the addition of last year’s S line style package as standard equipment on all A4s. A 60/40-split rear seat, headlight washers and 3-zone climate control are also now standard on all A4s.
For 2014 the Audi A4 line has moderate changes. The turbocharged 4-cylinder engine of the A4 is up to 220 horsepower, and the rest of the changes are related to the content of some options packages, trim details, new-design wheels and the like.
2013 Audi A4 gets a new hood and headlights, and inside, there's a new instrument cluster with simplified layout for the Multi Media Interface (MMI) electronics control. Electric power steering replaces the previous hydraulic boost. The A4 Avant
wagon goes away with the arrival of the new Allroad.
In addition to a few minor updates, the 2011 Audi A4 2.0T is available with a new eight-speed automatic transmission that replaces last year's six-speed unit, a Titanium Sport package with 19-inch alloy wheels and a retuned suspension, and an HD Radio feature included with the optional navigation system.
The 3.2-liter V6 engine has been dropped from the lineup. Other than this, changes for 2010 are limited to some reshuffling of content. Bluetooth and Homelink are now packaged together as optional equipment on Premium models, while Premium Plus and Prestige trims gain LED taillights. Prestige models feature standard 3D navigation and the Bang & Olufsen premium audio system is now optional on the Premium Plus.
2009 Audi A4 gets a well-deserved re-do, most notably a sizeable increase in interior room, enhanced optional and standard equipment lists and a more powerful 2.0-liter, 211-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
The A4 Avant 2.0T models lose a few options, such as memory for the driver's seat and mirrors and heated rear seats. The 3.2 receives a standard sunroof and all A4s have new audio systems capable of reading MP3-encoded CDs.
