"My Bling is sweet 16 !! My wife had her for 15 years and now I've got it since wife got new Honda. Da Bling is a real sweetheart. Hardly any mechanical troubles over her life. Wife put very little mileage on her but did put numerous dents into her exterior. I love to tool around it it as it has great pickup and is actually good on gas. Ideal car for retired guy like me"

Great car, just has an older look to it.

"This car is a great value. Nothing has gone wrong with it since I have owned it. Where other cars are plastic, this one has metal parts. Very good quality."

I will not purchase another Volvo again!

"This car has given me many problems, first it had a transmission problem within a year of purchasing it, I then had some kind of oil leak in the driving and passenger compartments that i had to pay alot of money for, I've had many so many small problems with mirrors breaking and now the door lock makes a buzzying sound when i lock it."

"I purchased this car a few years ago from a college kid in Boston. He and his wife never took care of the car so I got it for under $1k knowing Id have to put money into the car (which I did a few thousand but that's because I maintain my cars). All I can say is that its never left me stranded in over 2 years and 20k + miles. I will stress after owning classic Volvo's i.e. rear wheel drive 740/760/240's this car doesn't drive or feel like any of them(its a FWD vs RWD but better in the snow) and its a higher maintenance vehicle. If you do decide to keep up with regular maintenance its a long distance voyager if you neglect to do reg maintenance and replace parts you will feel slightly let down. The Pros: plenty of passing power(I have the LP turbo GLE), heavy nice ride even with 5 passengers, good paint (even after 12+ years in New England's winters), durable smooth shifting quiet engine. Cons: plastic coating on many of the interior switches(Volvo went Green or something?), replacing the ABS module(never had this issue with my 760T), steering rack replacement(again never EVER had to do this with any classic Volvo), gas mileage(a common gripe but I mean 22mpg isn't acceptable). All in all the last in Volvo's then classic boxy look which gave the cars distinction in the world of vanilla looking cars which today ALL look the same. Reliable, safe and purely European feel on the road. One last thing everyone complaints on the coffee cup holders. They are fine for my Starbucks cup and btw did you buy the car for the drink holder or for its safety..."

Pros: "It is durable and dynamic."

Cons: "The transmission is likely to fail at 120,000 mi"

"I have driven and loved Volvos for over 40 years. I have owned a P1800S (the sports car) a 164, a 740 and now an S70 turbo. Except for a major accident, they have all lasted for more than 300,000 miles.I would not buy a Volvo today. In 2000 Ford bought Volvo. By 2001 Volvo sedans had become high priced Tauruses."

"Drove it across country from NC to WA state. Not a problem even with over 220000 miles on it. I get an average of 23.9 and once got 24.9. Has broken door lock, and one electric window does not work, rear fender damage, and typical wear and tear for a 2000 model. Leather is cracked but heated seats work great. A/C compressor needs to be replace, and replaced alternator. Thermostat sticks sometimes and radiator flow or heater does not work, but engine is strong as ever and totally reliable. Great car for the money."
