"If you want a luxury vehicle you gotta pay a price. If you buy it used you gotta pay more then the guy before you. Volvos were never known for being cheap to repair, becaue they are not cheap. They are safe and cheapness would take away from the safty. I have owned my 98 S70 T-5 since new and have had my share of repairs, totaling no more then $1500, but it was expeceted. Over 9 years it comes out a bit over $150 a year. If you asked me if they are safe and will stay safe... Its not falling apart and losing its safty. I do not know any 4 door sedan for under $100,000 that is safer then this car. I would reccomend it to anyone, friends or foes."
Cons: "Low to the ground (can bottom out), not too roomy"

"My husband and I bought our '98 S70 GLT as the second owners and fell in love immediately. It was our first car together and could not have been happier! It was so comfortable, quiet, and SAFE. If you are good to the car, it will be good to you. It also helped that my husband can work on just about any vehicle so we saved a lot of money but we gave it whatever it asked of us and it's been reliable. We have since purchased a new Mercedes E 320 wagon for the family and can honestly say that, for us, nothing beats the Volv! It's well over 100,000 miles now and still going. I wish I knew it would last forever."
