I own this car - My approximate mileage is 215,000
overall rating 8 of 10rating detailsLikely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"All work and upgrades done locally at Volvo specialists. I have all receipts for $3500 in repairs and upgrades. My car has the classic Volvo look which is a beautiful car with timeless beauty. The power plant is plenty for the vehicle with three driving modes in rear wheel drive. The engine has 24 valves, twin overhead cams and gives a good burst of power when entering highways. No dents, no rust, great leather. New timing chain, cold a/c, power roof. This car is very safe and good for a new driver who you worry about. Virgin steel and Volvos' safety records speak for themselves."

"I'm the 2nd owner. I have regular maintenance done. The car has been very reliable. Volvo doesn't make this size of wagon anymore. People have even offered to buy the car. I'm not selling !"

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 189,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "very comfortable, handles great"
Cons: "awful cup holders"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I own this car and have driven it for the past 13 years. It now has 189,000 miles and still runs great. The car is so comfortable and makes driving enjoyable. The car's acceleration is smooth and is quiet, better then some cars that are new. Definitely worth owning if you can find one. The only complaint I have is that the cup holders don't support the cups and eventually break."

"Awesome car! Pick-ups are put to shame when I load a 4x8 sheet of plywood inside. drives well no matter what it hauls. Mine will tell great stories about our adventures. Rails on roof make tying anything an ease with just bungeee cords. Hip hip hooray for a great car!"

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 164,000
overall rating 8 of 10rating detailsPros: "A perfect SW: spacious, comfortable, fast"
Cons: "Weak Sunroof and stock radio"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"A smart design that attest to the Volvo's longevity. With simple regular service the car has been reliable and fun to drive. Bought used with 88k miles. The cargo-space, comfort and good looks keep us driving this 164k mi station wagon. Highway MPG is 25 mpg with four adults and two surfboards. Everything we need fits in the wagon. Great service by former Volvo employees is readily available. Service the sunroof regularly else you will have to forgetaboutit!"

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 185,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "Quiet; reliable; great to drive; economical and easy to own."
Cons: "Speaker grill fasteners crack/break; 30k maintenance schedule."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I bought this car a few years back with over 150k miles. It was obvious that the previous owner hadn't taken care of it. However, with a little clean up and TLC it now looks nearly new. The car still has a nice leathery smell, and the interior, after a good cleaning, looks nearly new. Everything about this car is high quality, from the drive train to the fit and finish of bodywork. It's so quiet you can hardly hear it running while driving - and this is an 18 year old high-mileage car! Amazing! I drove a tank (M-60) in the military, so when I say this car is solid, it's from experience. Like a tank, it rolls comfortably over rough terrain, yet can stop (4 wheel disc brakes) and maneuver (power rack-and-pinion steering) on a dime - also amazing considering its size and weight. I get nearly 25mpg on trips; 21 around town, and can haul lots of cargo, especially with all the seats folded down. Mine has the third (rear-facing) seat, so I can accommodate up to 7 adults (8 if at least one is very small) comfortably. Visibility is great, too, with the wagon's large windows. The Blaupunkt sound system, with the equalizer, was obviously designed with the car's acoustics in mind; it sounds better than any other car I've owned (even the Blaupunkt system my new Audi didn't sound as good!). I'm a bit disappointed, though, with the speaker grill fasteners. They tend to crack and break over time, but they're easy to find, inexpensive and easy to replace. I've never felt ill at ease in snow, either. You can select transmission modes for different driving conditions - one is for winter; works great. Maintenance is easy; everything is easy to find (oil and transmission dipsticks, etc.). You have to change the timing belt on a 30k schedule (ouch), but I did it myself and it was way easier than any other car I've owned - it's right in front of the engine and easy to access. I just followed a procedure I found on line - piece of cake. Overall, this is one of the best cars I've owned in over 40 years of driving; including BMW, Audi, Honda, Toyota, Chrysler, GM, VW, Subaru, Nissan, and I would highly recommend it."
