"This is a good vehicle but very small, but bigger than you would actually think it was by looking at the outside of the vehicle. If you have a breakdown is difficult to find a repair shop that will actually work on these vehicle. If you do happen to find a place they will charge an arm and leg for the repair."

Pros: "Holds the freeway well at speeds to 80 MPH."

Cons: "Excessive maint. costs."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1

"It has many design flaws, poor fuel mileage, excessive repairs to items that normally are not required. I've owned VW's since 1965 and this is the worst ever. It is too low to the pavement as one item which damaged the bottom engine cover which was very expensive to replace. Also damaged the low front fiberglass cover that houses the parking lights due to hitting parking cement bumpers. It currently has only 55,500 mi. and I've spent $5,469 exclusive of brakes, tires, filters, oil changes, etc. I bought it June 1, 2007 with 21,700 mi. driving it 33,800 mi. with large % being spent in the first 2 years. This does not include extensive trans work under warranty."

Pros: "Reliable, fast, & "PUNCH BUGGIE" folks love it!"

Cons: "Tight under the hood & in back seat. small trunk."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"This vehicle was purchased used February 2011 from a Chevy dealer. The mileage was 46,841. The MPG averages 24 in the city or on highway. No difference. Bought an 3 yr extended protection plan. Did use it once for A/C compressor. Regarding emissions, it took 2 attempts 78,401. It passed after replacement of oxygen sensor, upper pres. tube & upper pres. hose between air pump and flap valve. Regarding design: Under the hood, things are tight and parts such as headlamps are hard to reach. Work done on the vehicle has been pretty much routine. Regarding the cabin: The front passenger area is roomy and sporty. The back seat and trunk area could have been better thought out, as they have been in the beetles I have recently looked at. This vehicle has been reliable and believe it or not, it boogies along!"

Cons: "It's a standard"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"I have owned this car since 2003, it has been nothing but good minimal very minimal brake downs maybe once every 3 years if that. I bought it with 16k on it and now am looking for a newer one that is an automatic, I am tired of shifting after 11 years or I would keep it because it is still in very good shape and mechanical shape."

Pros: "Fun to drive- good gas saver"

Cons: "malfunctions at older age and higher miles"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 5

"Bought this car and have loved it some problems but that's expected with the age,cup holder design is annoying but it's better than none, definitely a good used car for teenagers and young adults that don't have kid's,males should steer clear of the newer ones and especially the convertibles unless they like paying a fortune for insurance."
