Narrow year range (drag arrows to filter):
For 2015, VW's Jetta sedan receives new front and rear styling, an upgraded interior and new optional features such as blind-spot warning, front-collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, bi-xenon headlights and Adaptive Front lighting. An improved 2.0-liter TDI is also new for 2015.
In addition to swapping the 5-cylinder engine for a turbocharged-4 in most sedan models, Volkswagen has installed multilink rear suspension in all 2014 Jettas and introduced its smartphone-enabled Car-Net communications service. Jetta SportWagen models again carry over unchanged except for new LED license-place lighting, and diesel (TDI) models gain a rearview camera as standard.
This year marks the debut of the Jetta Hybrid, Volkswagen's second hybrid (after the Touareg) and its first in the compact sedan segment. Other changes to the Jetta lineup include new leather trim in SE and higher versions, and launch control in the GLI models with automatic transmission.
Having introduced in 2011 an all-new car with an all-new mantra, the 2012 VW Jetta GLI turbocharges the day with the return of the 2.0 liter DOHC Turbo in combination with a fully independent rear suspension and numerous interior upgrades. Beyond this big news is the addition of a new "S with Sunroof" Jetta, offering (you guessed it) a tilt-and-slide power glass sunroof; front center console with armrest and storage; and cruise control. Also, a new TDI Premium package includes a sunroof and Fender Premium Audio.
The 2010 Jetta receives a revised interior, including a new instrument cluster, air conditioning control panel and steering wheel. SE, SEL and TDI trims all acquire standard Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity and premium audio upgrade. The sporty GLI has been discontinued.
The TDI clean diesel engine is added to the option list, as is a new wagon variant (reviewed separately). New standard features on all Jetta models include electronic stability and traction control, front and rear floor mats and heated front seats, side mirrors and windshield washer nozzles.
Long Volkswagen's best-selling vehicle, the 2015 VW Jetta sedan gets even better this year, offering new styling, an upgraded interior and a number of new safety features including blind-spot detection and forward-collision warning. Along with three gasoline engine choices (including two turbocharged engines), the Jetta also offers a hybrid model and a clean diesel that achieves up to 46 mpg on the highway. With prices ranging from the high teens to the low $30K range, the Jetta takes on a whole slew of compact and midsize sedans, including the venerable Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla, the roomier Chevrolet Cruz and Hyundai Elantra, and the sporty Ford Focus, Dodge Dart and Mazda3.
