"Excellent German performance sedan, I've had very good luck with mine, almost a year old and 20,000 miles. What has gone wrong you ask? It's a VW?, well first it is a machine, stuff will fail. I had an idiot light come on for the exhaust system at 7K, went out on it's own, no issues found after dealer checked it out. I had my trunk latch act up 19K, I purchased some quality oil and took care of that in an instant. I'm no mechanic, but I would say this has been very good reliability. I’ve also found the car easy to work on, changed the air filter(not so easy as the engine cover must come off to do so), cabin filter and so on myself. The car felt solid and fast the first day I test drove it and that has not changed at all. Gas mileage with the fantastic DSG 6 speed auto and 2.0 turbo engine is amazing, 200HP and I regular average 25-28MPG. I recently rented the new Infiniti G35, thought I would be blown away, I missed my car! The Infinity does have a great engine, but the rear end was always stepping out in the rain and for a luxury ride, only the front windows had the auto express down/up?! I recommend you take a GLI out for a test drive, it’s a little Audi in disguise baby!"
"The TDI has a lot of torque for 100 HP. Fun to drive. 53 hwy MPG is a bonus at 65-70 MPH. A little short on long-trip comfort. Have been stranded twice due to battery failure otherwise a trouble free car for the first 30K miles. Excellent value retention at 90% of original MSRP after 18 months."
