"I bought a 1990 cabriolet from the second owner. I have had the car for two years and have only put $69.00 in it for a new top I bought from Ebay and put on myself. The engine runs as smooth as silk and always starts. Good gas mileage, good "German feel" and people seem to love the car. Great on gas mileage too. The rollbar looks good and is a good safety feature. This is the first four person convertible I have owned. Too bad cars now aren't as good or as fun to drive."

"Karmin classic edition Wolfsburg-for being the year you received heated seats 6 cd player leather, convt, and power windows, push down top no snapping or velco. 5 speed control and power, real wheels no plastic wheel covers lots of miles and good on gas"

"i've owned 3(81,85 & 87). these cars drive like go-carts. peppy, great on gas & stylish(especially with topdown)my 87 is black which is starting to fade. completed a sympathy resto about 3 yrs ago. it's got 117K on her & she's my daily driver. the 1.8 engine's are indestructable, VW should've NEVER stopped producing em. as popular as these cars were back then, they sure are hard to come by now. i still get honks & a wave even today "hey, your car is cute!"
