"Such a cute and fun car. Good gas mileage. Comfortable and surprisingly quiet for a convertible. But if you're looking for a fast car, this one is not for you - made for drivers who aren't in a hurry to get to where they're going. Honestly, the maintenance can be costly and repairs can be quite expensive. I don't recommend this car with the power window option...the regulators go out ALOT and are costly. I'm surprised the car wasn't recalled because of the power windows failing to close all the way back up."
"I bought this new and drove it 16 years. It has needed very little work over that time (more as it got older, of course). It was in top shape for about 11 years, but the interior started to deteriorate around then - upholstery cracked, speaker covers fell off, glove box handle broke off. The roof was the high-end German cloth. Although the actual roof always looked brand new, the seam at the back of the roof frame was heat sealed and came apart. It was very hard to find someone who would work on that. Car sat outside unprotected through nine Ohio winters, and developed a couple of rusty spots. I'd call that my fault. If this car were still in production today, I would buy a new one again."
"This was my first car that I got when I was 16. I am now 23 and my car is still reliable! Have had to have minor, normal wear and tear work done over the years (breaks, timing belt etc). Few electric issues such as my driver's side seat warmer doesn't work and my cruise control stopped working about a year ago. But overall, for how old it is, it drives nice and being able to put the top down isn't too bad either! :)"
"I loved this car and was my dream car in sunshiny Cali. I enjoyed convertible and small fun smooth ride for 2 years. But the convertible top window fell off and was very difficult to fix (would cost $1300 to professionally fix, so I poor-man fixed it with industrial glue,,,but not quite well.)The automatic top open function stopped right after the purchase as well (I can mannually open)
Expensive to fix, each parts cost almost double compared to Japanese/Korean cars. And after certain car age (like 10yrs) this car is not reliable.
The value would not hold much over the year. so enjoy 2-3 years of fun drive and change to some reliable car after that :)"
"This car has been wonderful to me. It gets great gas mileage, it seats four average sized adults comfortably,
it is fun to drive with the top down on warm days and it aways starts no matter how cold it gets here in the winter. It is getting older now and requires some maintenance, but nothing outrageous or unexpected. My only gripe is that some of the interior plastic trim is really cheap and breaks easily and the cupholders are useless since nothing larger than a 12 oz soda can fits in them. I plan to keep up with this car as long as I can since there is nothing else available these days with such a perfect balance of fun and practicality."
"I always wanted a Cabrio and finally decided to get one with 92k miles on it. It literally has been in the shop more than I've been able to drive it. It looks good on the outside and has heated seats and is a cool little car but I wouldn't recommend this car to anyone. I've broken down and had to replace so many parts over the span of 3 years; my father is a car mechanic too and told me repeatedly to not get a Cabrio but I didn't listen. I just sunk so much money into this thing. Way more than it was worth. So, hope this was helpful to someone who wants to listen, unlike me."
