2012 Toyota Tundra Regular Cab

The 2012 Toyota Tundra pickup has its options list simplified to a few well-equipped packages, adding a new Chrome Package on Double Cab and CrewMax models. The Limited and TRD Rock Warrior trims gain a standard rearview camera.

For 2011, the Tundra's base 4.0-liter V6 receives dual variable valve timing for more power and better fuel economy (horsepower increases from 236 to 270), while trailer sway control is made standard on all models. Toyota has streamlined the Tundra lineup down to the 28 most popular configurations.

About Toyota Tundra Regular Cab

Given the hype surrounding the introduction of Toyota's all-new Tundra, you'd think Toyota's product team had discovered at least a cure for the common cold. A full-size truck from Toyota is big news and, after Toyota's two previous attempts at the full-size market (the T-100, introduced in 1993, and the first-generation Tundra, introduced in 2000), it does heighten expectations. The newest Tundra is not, however, the reinvention of the pickup. Rather, with its new Tundra, Toyota hopes to hit the sweet spot in the marketplace and, while not reinventing the pickup, its launch significantly raises the stakes in the full-size segment.

"I have owned this truck for two years and have never been so in love with a vehicle. We just completed a 10,000 mile road trip with a 30 ft. travel trailer which it pulled like a dream. Its super comfortable and loaded with power. We have never ever had a single problem (other than bogus recall stuff which was all hype)and it gets reasonable fuel economy for all of its power (18-21 hwy, average 10-12 towing 7600 lbs). This truck handles like a car in avoidance situations, and is an ultimate snow machine. Love, Love, Love it!!"

"Owned Ford's and Chevy's in the past and they do not compare to the looks, ride, and fuel mileage. Veh is used on long trips just about every day and is more comfortable than any PU I have ever owned. Should have gotten the big engine instead of the 4.7 just for the towing."

Pros: "Big truck that makes a man feel like a man."

Cons: "Mine's not brand new."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I have had my Tundra for a little over three years now and I am in the market to buy another. I want some different features on my next truck but I love the Tundra. I have driven a 2010 GMC Sierra and 2011 Ford F-150 at work and notice that the GMC is not as responsive as the Ford or Toyota. The Ford is a more comfortable truck to ride in but it feels more like a grandpa truck than a 40-year old man's truck. I love the Tundra. Wait did I say that yet? I love the Tundra. And I'm looking forward to my next Tundra."
