"I've had my Tundra since 2001. It's been a great truck, and I plan to keep it until it falls apart. Could be a while, only have 60,000 miles on it. My two complaints about it are 1) the doors don't stay open well when you're parked on an incline, and 2) there is no water management system in place - don't leave your windows down when the wipers are going, everything's funneled into the driver's window.
My driveway's sloped, and there have been countless times where I've parked, gotten out, and reached back into the truck to get something out & had the door slam back on me. Has happened to my kids as well. This is a serious design deficiency.
If you're driving down the road with the windows open & you run the wipers to clean the windshield, the windshield fluid will be dripping into your window in no time. I love the look/lines of the truck, but would it have been so hard to put a channel in place to keep the water out of the window?"
"Bought this truck new 2 years ago; have had no problems or maintenance beyond regular preventative. Couple of things could have been better, i.e. doors don't lock automatically when gear is engaged. Phone charger (cig lighter) is not active unless key is on. Makes it a little hard to charge phone when not driving or in vehicle. Other than that, it's a great vehicle, very comfortable for long distance driving, rides smooth and handles great for a 4 wheel drive. Highly recommend it. Good looking, too."
