2002 Tundra with 256,000 Miles - Still a sweet daily driver.

"This is absolutely the best truck I've ever owned, dependability-wise. I change the oil every 5K miles or so. I change the battery every 3 years when it dies. I add a fuel treatment every 3 gas fill-ups and that's about it. I bought this truck brand new in 2001 and now have over 250,000 miles. I'ts my daily driver, in fact, I just jumped in it and drove 160 miles, one way, to go hunting the day after Christmas. The kicker is, It still looks almost as good as it did the day after I bout it and put new Michelin tires on it. I still run on Michelins."

"The two recalls for this vehicle have been handled by the dealership at no charge to me. The first was for the upper front bushings the first year I owned the vehicle and now the passenger side air bag problem as a result of poor quality control by the manufacturer of the unit and not Toyota's fault. The only maintenance was regular - oil changes, air filters, batteries. The brake system has been serviced once so far. Nothing else has been replaced on the vehicle at this point. This model has the 4.7 liter engine and the timing belt was replaced at 97,000 miles per Toyota's guidelines for this engine along with the water pump."

"Bought almost 4 years ago with 40K & is just another awesome Toyota product. I have had a lot of different vehicles from different manufacturers & Toyota keeps me coming back. These 1Gen Tundras are hard to come by anymore and are equally compared to 4Runners, Tacomas, FJ's and Land Cruisers, in my opinion. If you can find one, GET IT!"

Toyota CPO Truck purchased with 17K on the odometer, our 1st day together.

"You pay a little more for one of these rare Tundra trucks, but you get more for your money. This truck has a power to weight ratio that is better than other first generation 4WD V8 Tundra trucks. Totally reliable. Solid build quality. Driving dynamics have been enhanced with the addition of a Hellwig rear anti-sway bar, Bilstein shocks, Michelin radials, a TRD limited slip differential, and JBA exhaust headers. The exterior could benefit from a factory paint that is more durable. I enhanced the interior with Wet Okole seat covers, and a factory 6 disc head unit. This is my work truck... I love driving it, and it's silky smooth V8 has never let me down."
