Pros: "Very Tough, well built"

Cons: "faulty lift gate if you live on a dirt road"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"My husband & I bought this SUV 7 years ago with 80,000 miles on it. We live on a dirt road and do lots of exploring on primitive dirt roads, the car has been wonderful with one exception. the rear lift gate has broken 4 times, and it can cost up to $700.00 to replace. This is the Achilles heal of this model (2001 - 2007) and supposedly Toyota has come up with a fix. Dust gets in the lock and it breaks (not a good thing for an off road vehicle). However, we loved this car so much we just bought another one, this time 2007, same style and love it too, they are very well built, and we love the styling of this older style."

This been a wonderful family car.

Pros: "Reliable. Nice pick-up. Room for a family of five"

Cons: "Poor gas milage and battery life."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"We are a family of five. This has been a wonderful family car for eight years. We bought it certified used from a Toyota dealership. It has taken us on thousands of miles of vacations. Our current Toyota dealership has been very supported. However, the original dealership had convinced us to roll in a bunch of after market warranties into our loan; all of which turned out to have exaggerated claims. With Toyota's help (and a lot of patients), we were able to get our warranty money back. Here are my complaints about the SUV (which are minor) Our biggest challenge with the SUV has been the life of it's battery. Leaving on the interior light one night will drain the battery. Also there is no warning if you leave the lights on and remove the key from the ignition (like in most other cars). Finally, the logic behind the car alarm is stupid. If you disable the alarm and lock the door, then the alarm will automatically reengage. For example, once I left Granma in the car with sleeping babies (so I could get get some milk). I turned off the alarm and she locked the doors. When she opened the door for some air, the alarm startled awake three sleeping babies."

"The only reason I did not give it 12/10 is there was no room to do so. The only negative is the rust on the undercarriage, rear axel and wheels."

Pros: "The best SUV ever built"

Cons: "None"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Reliable, Tuff, Military grade motor and transmission. This is the truck you want when things get rough. Easy to maintain and built to do a half million miles. Only real flaws are Toyota leather which is way to thin, but if you keep it treated won't fade too bad. I love this vehicle, I have a bmw 740 and this vehicle is far superior. I have an Acura Mdx and can't hold the Sequoia's jock strap. True fan of Toyota. Their cars aren't sexy, but they just don't break!"

Pros: "THE BEST SUV!"

Cons: "Gas Hog, tires are expensive, expensive to fix"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I have owned a Sequoia Limited for ten years. I have taken this truck on rough back roads in the PA State Game Lands and had no trouble going up steep hills with small boulders and running water...It was intense, but this truck never flinched! It said, "No Problem!" It laughs at snow. I have ripped through two feet on winding forest roads with no doubts. Then there's the heated leather seats for the wife (and me) on those -10 winter days. The interior room is awesome, I have four kids and a big dog; we all fit with lots of gear on the roof. I have had minimal repairs. The biggest was the master cylinder, but I do put this truck through a workout. Its worth the price if you can fork over the big bucks, but an SR5 has many of the same gear. I'm still driving this 2005 for a while, until I can get the money together for a new Sequoia!"
