"I drive 120 miles round trip each day. I previously owened a Nissan Pathfinder and found myself spending 150+ dollars a week on gas. I decided to go with the Prius to save on gas. Obviously this was the main reason I wanted a Hybrid. What I found out is not only the Prius excellent on gas (45MPG average) it is a fun vehicle to drive with plenty of pickup. The components are well designed and placed within arms reach. The drive is comfortable, and smooth. Also the interior has much more room than you would expect. I bought an 05 used Cert for only 17K. Best car purchase i have ever made and I am saving over 200 dollars per week over my SUV. Not a had decision after all. I strongly suggest this vehicle to everyone"
"I've owned a 2005 Prius since 12/05 and continue to be very satisfied with both its performance and comfortable ride. I live in NE Dutchess county, NYS, and deal with hills and cold weather. It struggles a bit with the hills, but not any more than my 2000 Subaru Outback Sport. Mileage drops to about 45 MPG in the winter and is consistently over 50 MPG in the summer months. On the occasions when I drive on Long Island or NYC, the car as gotten up to 60 MPG.
My only gripe with Toyota concerns the original tires (Goodyear Integrity). They just made it to 30K miles when they had to be replaced. They weren't good at all on even light snow. I replaced them with BF Goodrich Traction T/AH tires and the difference is dramatic."
