"I own a 2007 Prius and it has been working flawlessly for me. I live in Boston and have driven through snowstorms in this car without any problem. It is a surprisingly stable and roomy car.
It is true that even with the high gas prices, it might take you about 4/5 yrs to break even with the cost upfront over a Civic or Corolla but the resale value of a Prius balances that out. I can sell my car today for just a 1000 less than what I bought it for.
I honestly believe that hybrids are the future of the auto industry and cars like Prius are the way to go."
"Quality and Reliability is fantastic. Gas mileage is usually above 50mpg depending on the weather and when its bad its in the high 40's. Been on two trips over 2500 miles each with absolutely no problems. I change the oil & filter every 5000 miles and put in gas. Wife liked mine so much she bought one!"
"My wife and I have owned our Prius since July 2007. It gets between 46 and 53 mpg.
We baby it to get that mileage. My wife and I have a contest to see who can get the best MPG when we are driving it. We have the package 6 so have all the bells. But it would be nice to have electric seats and heated seat. It is very cold here in Colorado sometimes in the winter and it wake's you up early in the morning sitting on cold leather seats.
The view in the car is not the best but you get use to it. The paint could be a better quaility too. It scrachs and marks up very easy. We have the touring model so the ride seems to be a little stiff .
The next car we buy will probably be a camry hybrid only because you can get a sunroof in it and has a bit more luxury than the Prisus. But will sacrifice mileage for it. But thats ok."
