Pros: "Fun to drive. Extremely economical."

Cons: "No power locks or power windows"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I have loved this car since I bought it new in Dec 1999. I still love it. It has always gotten 35 to 39 mpg , & 40-43 highway. It's rated 34/41, & I think KBB had it wrong when I looked it up. It is easy & fun to drive. Comfortable seats. Plenty of head room, leg room front & back, trunk space. 60/40 fold-down back seat. No power lock or windows--very basic. Two cup holders. There is no new car to compare it to in cost of operation. I have had to do minimal repairs in 14 2/3 years."

"This car is the best car I've ever owned - amazing on mileage, gas, rarely needs fixing, comfortable, FUN, tape deck AND CD player (for us older old-fashioned folks!!). I hope it lasts forever and ever. Easy to drive. Wish they still made it!!"

This is my third Echo, love them

"Very gas efficient and reliable, I always get significantly more MPG than they claim: 35-40 in city always. Mine is a manual. The steering is hard ie doesn't feel like power steering but that is my only complaint and it is minor. Have never had any mechanical problems with any of the Echoes that I have had. Last one had over 130,000 miles on it before I sold it to a neighbor, it now has just under 200,000 and is still going!"

Good simple car

Pros: "Good gas milage, small size but roomy inside"

Cons: "Body seems fragile, loud on highway"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 7

"For the cost, a pretty good little car. Not a lot of "bells and whistles" but it get's you where you need to go efficiently and safely. I commute on the highway every day, and not having cruise control is an issue, but if you aren't a commuter (or if you find one with cruise), it is a great car with great gas milage. I really like Toyota, it has treated me well for 7 years with only normal wear and tear issues that needed fixing."

Pros: "none"

Cons: "did not come with cruise control added for 400"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"i have had this vehicle for 6 years bought it for 2600 its a rebuilt was sideswiped and scraped the entire driver side air bags not deployed. I fixed it up everything update for 3600 6 years ago I have put in about 3000 in maintainance costs that includes two sets of tires/tuneup/front and rear brakes/rear shocks/cruise control/2 batteries/transmission fluid change/alternator and a few other minor things like windshield wippers. the car is still worth 2500-2750 dollars.id hate to part with it because its so cheap to maintain. I got it with 113700 miles I now have 163K its like a energizer bunny it keeps going and going.I want a mazda 5 but I am afraid to switch because of the reviews so I will keep this until she wont go anymore.my wife has a 11 fiesta and even she loves not having a 500 car note.if you can get one do it.its the cheapest on cost per mile period."

Cons: "There is nothing about it I don't like."

"I love this car. I've been driving it for nine years now. It's still in excellent condition, runs and handles beautifully, still has tight transmission and lots of pep. I'm expecting another 50,000 miles or maybe more."
