Pros: "Reliablity, high seating, relatively large trunk,"

Cons: "Small for 5 people"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Very comfortable due to high seating. Very reliable and easy to drive and park in the city. Although older it has never given us problems, but it is time to change to a newer model. So sad they don't make them any more, but we will buy a Yaris, which succeeded the Echo."

Pros: "Great for tall people like me!"

Cons: "Not made anymore!"

My car on the 13 of March, 2015.

"I picked this car up brand-new from a dealer in Grapevine, Texas in March of 2001 & immediately drove it to my new home in NE Ohio where I still live today. Over the years, I've replaced the brakes twice, and the tires four times. I've kept her on full synthetic oil at regular oil changes and she rewarded me with an Avg 35MPG which dipped to 29MPG during the coldest winter months. In the last year, the starter and the alternator needed to be replaced. Now she is throwing a speed sensor code that doesn't seem to be resolvable despite replacing multiple parts. The last Toyota mechanic to look at her said she has multiple wiring issues with wires that shouldn't be grounded showing as grounded and wires that should be carrying voltage, well not. It's come time to give my car up but considering how much I paid and the number of reliable years I got out of her I figure I paid less than $2,000 a year. I'd buy another one if Toyota was still making them. I loved the storage cubbies on either side of the center mounted dash displays, the double glove compartment, and the drawer under the passenger seat. I loved how I could fit 8 2x4x8's in the car and close the trunk at the local home centers! I will miss this car and I am sad to see her go."

Loved it for 14 years-would buy another one!

Pros: "design suited me for sitting in driver's seat, air"

Cons: "bumpy ride"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I loved this car from the beginning because suited my long legs and shorter torso as well as the fresh air flow system -- and kept it forever because it is reliable, good on gas milage, and easy to drive. With regular oil changes, it didn't need much work for almost 200, 000 miles. Now it has emissions problems, and I guess I better let it go. I wish they were still making them-- I would buy another one with updated safety features."

Pros: "reliability and mpg"

Cons: "do not make them anymore"

"Avg mpg 40 best was 46mpg I bought used with 30000 on echo. In 266000 miles and counting. the only part that has been replaced is a water pump. I own two other Toyotas and that is why."

Pros: "Value, reliable, EZ 2 park, comfortable interior"

Cons: "Poor handling, wider turns, suspension trouble"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"Great car - best I've owned (including past Corolla and Civic). Bought mine refurbished in '05 with only 4700 miles. Reliable, good in winter with chunky tires. Ran like clockwork. Got 40 MPG and I drive hard and fast. Never had a Tercel, but I don't think Toyota would sell many hybrids given the fuel economy of these older, value models. Doesn't handle as well as a Civic, but I'd buy a new one if they still made them."

Pros: "Great Price - fun to drive - great on gas."

Cons: "SUV drivers are jealous."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"My Toyota Echo has been amazing in so many ways. It looks brand new, is great on gas & is so maneuverable. I can fit into the tiniest parking spaces & city driving is kind of a lark with this size vehicle. Very gratefully, I must say it is amazing in snow - must be the front wheel drive. I have about 150000 miles on it, but feel, with regular maintenance, we're good to go for a few more years. I was sorry when they stopped making them, as several of my friends also wanted to purchase one."
