"I bought this second-hand two years ago with high mileage, and practically the only time it went to the mechanic was for inspection/oil change. Generally people praise it for its looks, and it just feels like why aren't other cars made like this. Being a student , cost and resale value is a major factor, and Toyota will always keep you happy and focus on your work. Though it is tempting to enjoy the acceleration once in a while. Wish I had the manual, since the auto accelerates slower, but they are just so rare in the market these days!"

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 150,000
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "Quick, Fun, Sexy, Great Gas Mileage"
Cons: "Oil Consumption (do your homework on this)"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I purchased my 2001 Celica GT in August and I love it. It's a very zippy little car. The GT version only has 140 horsepower but combined with the cars overall weight of 2400 lbs its not bad that combined with 22MPG city and 30+MPG highway its amazing. I do advise that if you're considering a Celica you have 2 options purchase a 2003+ model or a GTS. Avoid the GT model from 2000-2002 because they down oil about as quick as an alcoholic can drink a bottle of liquor. Also just my preference but find one with the TRD body kit it's so much better looking."

"I highly recommend this car to anyone interested in a very sporty, extremly reliable car that is fun to drive. I've had almost no problems over the 11 years I've owned it, and it's really my favorite car that I've ever owned and I've had a lot over the years. I would definately purchase another Toyota again. I've been extremely satisfied with my whole experience with my Celica."

"I bought my silver 2001 celica gt brand new 12 yrs ago. I was in high school and i thought it was the best car ever. I still have it and i've never had any problems with it at all, i havent had to have any work done on it (other than maintainence-oil changes ect) and a really cool car...GREAT on gas!! roomy comfy front seats,my AC is ice cold and even though its a 12 year old car it still looks cool, there not super super common like other cars, and since they no longer make them there's not a ton of new versions."

"First off, I fell in love with this car my last year in high school, it's a beautiful car inside and out. For a while it was great, being a single person with no kids is great with this car. But when you want to take a few friends with you somewhere, it gets a little (or a lot) cramped.I tried to go down to the coast which is a 4 hour drive from where I live. Needless to say, it was heck. There is honestly NO leg room in the back and I usually have my seat all the way up since I'm 4"11 and it's still not enough for an average height person. I also want to point out that I have a problem with a leak in the window on the drivers side, however I don't think this is common. I also have an AC problem. It cannot hold a charge for more than a month and I'm too afraid to see what it's going to cost me to fix it up."
