"My dad bought it used for me 7 years ago and I still have it and its been very reliable :) Its only been in the shop 3 times in the 7 years (nothing major) I'll never get anything but a Toyota now. They only complaint it the convertible top, I love it but it leaks in heavy rain and if the wind blows hard its really loud while driving."

Pros: "fun to drive, good amount of power, looks cool"

Cons: "oem parts are hard to find"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Probably one of the coolest cars I've ever owned. Its also one of the most reliable. It has 249K and still runs like a champ. Its not necessarily a rare car but ive only seen 4 in person including mine. so when i drive around town and park older people tell me all the time how awesome celicas are and how they used to have one. Also, alot of import guys always say something about it. Its not a car thats so fast that it can get away from you but its by no means slow. downsides: when you want to replace something such as foglights. you can try and go find the oem US version of them, which is hard to do, so you have to go on ebay and find the jdm version and then have it shipped from japan. whats bad about is, is its usually a used part and who knows what its been through. and this is the case for all the parts. But overall, one of the best cars ive ever owned"

Pros: "Inexpensive, looked great and fun to drive"

Cons: "None"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I bought the car new in 1995 and drove it for 13 years. My son received it as a hand-me-down. Celly was still going strong when he totalled it with 209,000 miles on it. It still had the original muffler and other than routine maintenance required only a new clutch. It was a pretty sad day when we had to put her down. PS: My son was not injured, just the car."

Love it!

Pros: "Paid for. Sporty. Fun to drive."

Cons: "Low to the ground."

"This car has been in the family since 1997. My husband and I love to drive it. It is low and sometimes that doesn't mix with bad knees. Good service--minimum maintenance."

Pros: "fun to drive,sporty,rare,4 seats"

Cons: "some hard plastics,no traction control"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"The Celica is a real joy in hot days. You get to roll down all your windows and enjoy the breeze as you ride along. The steering wheel feel is dull but responsive, there is a good amount of soft touch materials, the aspirated four is peppy although it will not overwhelm you, and the suspension is sporty and stiff because it really does not feel meant for comfort. It is reliable despite the fact that for our car the previous owner crashed the whole front of it, and fixed it although it wasn't really put on good you can see the line imperfections. As for the car on the snow well its really not that good. The car made us slide across the road one time which was scary, but then again this car was not designed for snow this car is for having fun around the corners. I also have noticed that on cold temperatures the engine has a really loud idle and when I stick the key and turn it it takes a while for the engine to turn on. Safety wise well the car only has two airbags, there is no traction control, and I really dont know its crash ratings. The mpg is good does not reach the magic forty but it lasts about the whole week from work to home for my dad. We do maintain it decently. I personally like the design if you look at it in certain angles the front looks attractive and the rear end is good too in my opinion as well as the look from the side. Overall though I really do love this car and I kind of wish my dad would keep it,but he says hes going to sell it to buy a Subaru because he wants to be safe in the winter. I understand his safety is first especially ever since an incident we had, yet at the same time i feel that it would be more cheaper to buy winter tires and really 4wd is not totally invincible either. I really do enjoy this car too because of its sporty look and feel of an 1999 sports car which reminds me how much technology has advanced ours does not even have a radio! Its just the road and you."
