2000 Camry LE

"Purchased mine used through the dealership I work for at an unbeatable price and have driven the snot out of this car. Mine has the 2.2 Liter, 5-SFE engine with the automatic transmission, and both are up for just about anything. Hauling the family, long commutes, stop and go traffic, you name it and it'll do it. I'm most surprised by how smooth the car idles and accelerates. Most 4 cylinder cars I've driven (even brand new ones) have a small amount of vibration. Kind of like its letting you know "Hey, I'm running"... But not mine, its so quiet that there have been two instances where I tried to start it and it was already running. Trunk space is on par with new midsize sedans. Interior room is generous. The power won't snap you head back. It won't even put a smile on your face for that matter, but that's not why people buy Camry's. The simplistic nature, the easy care and maintenance, and the good feeling knowing you're driving an overbuilt car. Mine currently has 255,000 miles with all original powertrain."

Pros: "Lexis engine in a Camry, so much power!"

"Fast, comfortable, feel-great car. We're only giving her up because she is worn out and we hate to have her fade out on our watch. Every single time we've had her serviced, the mechanics comment about what a fun car she is."

"Hated to part with it. It absolutely drove like a dream. It was so quiet I had to depress the accelerator to see if it was on. It was time to trade in."

Pros: "Reliable and Comfortable even after 240,000 miles"

Cons: "Paint job"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"For the Money, there is no question that this '97 Toyota Camry V-6 is the best in its class. The body paint is the only complaint-it hasn't held up like the mechanical, accessories and interior. The trip or road comfort is equal to most heavier luxury vehicles. I'd purchase it again in a heartbeat!"

"I love my Camry!Being a mechanic, I'm always impressed how well built my Camry is. She can be difficult when it comes to DIY repairs only because she so well put together."

"A great reliable vehicle that just keeps running like a top. A/C was never repaired in 15 years, still blows ice cold air in 15 seconds in the middle of an Arizona summer."
