"Luv this SUV because it is a fine example of what SUV should be. It never gives you any troubles or headaches, not even had one problem since I bought it new. I intent to hold on to this SUV as long as I could."
"Bought the 4Runner with the 4.7 liter V8 I-Force engine for the torque/towing. This has been the best SUV I have owned. The confidence through bad Chicago winters is always excellent. Rugged yet very smooth for everyday use. The Aisin 5-speed transmission is remarkably smooth and still is silky smooth at 90,000 miles. The Downhill Assist Control (DAC) works very well in steep terrain. Traction control is programmed just right. The interior is a bit mundane but is solid and useful. There are no uneven gaps like you'll find in a Jeep, Ford or GM. There are absolutely no rattles, shakes or annoying noises. The exterior is also solid. There are no misaligned gaskets or panels. The fit and finish is excellent. The rear Koito made LED lamps look great as well as the front projector lamps with fog lights. You won't want a 4Runner V8 for fuel economy. It eats gas at 16-18mpg combined highway and city driving. This is a body on frame truck so some body roll is there. I haven't had a single electrical or mechanical problem- absolutely ZERO issues."
"this car had never been to shop for anything except regular maintenance. had original spark plugs after 10 years and still was running Great. My husband changed them out because he was changing them in his own truck. when he realized they were the originals he was impressed with the car. everything is so smooth. you are always in a reliable car. and don't have to worry about breaking down. I would recommend this car to any moms out there!!!"
Pros: "Reliability, (4x4) never stuck, good on road trips"

"Bought it brand new back in 2008 and 134K miles later, still going strong! I've kept up with all the fluid changes and preventive maintenance...have no doubt WHATSOEVER this SUV will give me yet ANOTHER 134K miles.
The only maintenance I've ever done to this truck is a change in the front wheel bearings (at 133K) and a new battery (in 2014). Who can complain about that?
Why can't they make wives this reliable and low maintenance? ;)"
Cons: "front cloth seating should more comfortable"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9
"I have had the 4 runner for 7 yrs and only has 38000 miles, all scheduled oil changes have been done by Dealer and the only major expense was 4 new Michelin tires. It has an excellent ride and I like that year styling compared to the 2015 models. Also it does have a high trade in value among SUVs."
