A new six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode helps improve both fuel economy and performance. The Base trim is dropped from the lineup.
A new, lower-cost five-passenger front-wheel-drive base model joins the line-up. A rear-vision camera is now available, but only on the Limited trim level.
The largest and most powerful vehicle Suzuki has ever sold, the XL7 has borrowed its predecessor's name but is new from the frame up. On sale in September, Suzuki claims it will be the most affordable all-wheel-drive vehicle on the market.
Suzuki looks to 2007 as its most significant year in the US, introducing two timely new vehicles, including the XL7, and celebrating a 2006 sales increase of 77 percent since 2003. Creating its first midsize crossover by redesigning and reengineering last year's flagship XL-7 SUV (and dropping the hyphen), Suzuki debuts the XL7 as a brand-new mainstream model. Crossovers, built on car-like unibodies, are outstripping SUVs in popularity and the streamlined XL7 Limited joins the crossover segment as a modern, style-conscious seven-passenger version with optional all-wheel drive and the advantage of excellent fuel economy. Two other models, Base and Luxury, round out buyer choices.

"I bought by 2007 Suzuki XL7 AWD about 4 months ago and absolutly love this SUV. It is super roomy and great for family vacations. Mine does not have the 3rd row but that works out fine because the back area is now free to load up. Let me tell you about the deal I got. It was unreal. The car booked at 25,500 and I walked out of the dealer paying $17,200 + taxes. How did I do it. Well, they were offering 4K off, + another 1k for competitive vehicle for a trade in and they gave me about $750 for my BEAT UP Chrysler mini-van that we worth exactly what they offered. Also, they sold me the car for invoice so that added up to the price of 17.2K. It is without a doubt the BEST DEAL I have ever seen for a SUV that is AWD and runs PERFECT. Tons of power, manumatic shifting, and awesome looks. Sure it is not loaded up but for a family on the GO it rocks. Also, gas is not under $2 so life is SWEET!! It gets EXACTLY what is stated on the charts when it comes to MPG. The 2007 has the better MPG rating due to the electronic AWD system that only kicks in when needed. To me, for the price I paid the deal for this quality is great. For 25K I would have to re-think it and compare to others. We all know how that goes. Value is based on what you get for what you pay and with this vehicle I am 100% happy. Plus Suzuki treats you like a customer. They call to see if you like it, they sent me a gas card since the car was not full when I bought it. Everything has been impressive. Also, the warranty is STRONG unlike many of the american warranties that shift every year because they know their motors and transmissions are junk. You will love the space and ride of this vehicle and it has the cool S and chrome front grill. For those that do not want to drive the same old look this SUV stands out with a cool style. Enjoy."

"Great Sport utility veh. The only negative I can think of is it does not hold its "resale" value as well as others such as Honda or Toyota but it does have a much better warrenty"

"Suzuki is making their way as one of the leaders in Crossover/SUV's with the new 2007 XL7. I test drove many vehicles before buying and the XL7 had the best ride overal. The GMC enjoy and Jeep commander came close to driving as well, but were much more costly and did not get the mileage that this vehicle gets. The XL7 had superb Acceleration and Comfort compared to all the other vehicles I drove. I got the 7 seat Luxury model, and it has 24,500 miles on it right now and have not had any problems with it. I would say this is a must buy for someone with kids who would like a 3rd row vehicles which gets good gas mileage and has All Wheel Drive."
