"We purchased this car in 2006 with about 35K miles. The look and styling of the car are very nice, and the added accessories for the price were what attracted us to the car. First, it has been a pretty reliable car for us - fortunately. We have not had any major mechanical problems with the vehicle to date, and we are approaching the 100K mark. With that said, the overall quality of this car is very very poor. The chrome on the inside door handles is peeling off, the power rear-view mirror stopped working, the ashtray won't stay closed, the stereo stopped working, the paint on the front bumper is chipping away like crazy, the paint on the back bumper is oxidizing terribly, the sunroof is not working properly, the fake wood grain trim on the console is wearing away, there is a mysterious rattle in the left rear that can't be identified, one fog light died, and if you do need a repair parts are extremely difficult to find. I have to special order oil and air filters from the auto parts store, I will need to travel over 2 hours to the closest dealership to get shocks/struts. To replace the fog lights was going to cost almost $200 since it is a dealer only part. Even the battery is hard to find and since we've gone through 3 of those in less than 100K miles, it gets to be a drain on your patience and finances. The only saving grace of this car is that it runs when we need it to and the repairs - so far - cost far less than a car payment."
"I bought a 2005 Suzuki used in 2006. The Styling and price were the big draw for me. I thought Suzuki would make a great vehicle becuase they have a long history. For the first six months or so the car ran great, but then just about the time the 36000 mile bumper to bumper warranty ran out it began breaking down. Most of the problems i had were related to the engine. I have replaced many engine parts and have hauled it to several dealers and repair shops to get it worked on. Noticed I said hauled. It is a bad sign when you have to use your 20 year old truck to haul you new car to the repair shop, over and over. I just read a lot of the reviews on this vehicle and the problems others have dealt with are similiar to the same problems i have had. I will give Suzuki credit for making a stylish car with a lot of features. It looks really sharp sitting in the driveway. Unfortunately it does not looks so well broke down beside the road or on a trailer being hauled back to the repair shop. Another thing to think about if you are going to buy this vehicle is to make sure you have a repair shop you trust and they are able to work on the vehicle, I live in a town of 50000 and there are probably no less than 25 repair shops here. No one has the equipment to work on the car. Also consider, especially if you do a lot of your own car repairs, the parts are almost impossible to find, even little things like air filters are a pain to find. Most parts have to come from a dealer and you are really going to pay for them. You can shop around online and save a little money on parts but your car will be setting in the garage while you wait for them to come in. I think Suzuki could have made this into a really good vehicle had they continued production and worked out the problems with the motor, transmission and paint. However that did not happen and if you buy one of these cars just remember when you are sitting on the side of the road watching other motorist go by that you did read this review."
"Bought this car brand new. Have put 68,000 miles on it in 2 and a half years. Everything still works well and it still looks great as well. Wish it got better than 23 miles to the gallon, but it is a very comfortable car with lots of extras for the money."
"this is my first car and already i have problems mainly the check engine light came on 2 times.i bought it used but i love the way it handles its not oververtly large and with a small child its nice.but the check engine light has come on 2 times since i purchased it less then a month ago bc of the sensors in the emissions thankfully the dealer is trying to get everything taken care of.gas milelage could be better but again for a first vechile its not bad.would recommend if u cant get an accent or accord or camry."
