2012 Suzuki SX4

2012 SX4 models carry over with minor changes from 2011, when they were mostly unchanged from the 2010 model year that saw a slight power increase and interior modifications. Updates for 2012 include an upgraded Garmin navigation system and standard electronic stability control on SX4 sedans. Base sedan models now get rear disc brakes like other SX4 models, and the LE automatic version has a slight improvement in fuel economy. Two new color choices are available for 2012 SX4 models: Brilliant Blue Metallic and Crimson Red Metallic.

The new SX4 Sedan moves Suzuki closer than it's ever been before to segment heavyweights like the Honda Civic, Mazda3, Nissan Sentra and Toyota Corolla. Its higher-profile appearance and sportier handling characteristics are ideal complements to an impressive roster of standard equipment coupled with Suzuki's traditional pricing advantage.

2007 Suzuki SX4

The least expensive all-wheel-drive vehicle on the market, the cheery SX4 is a sport (S) crossover (X) that fuses function with a sense of fun. Suzuki has built its smallest vehicle as a precocious pup of a hatchback with a terrific all-wheel-drive system and a powertrain that can best most comers.

About Suzuki SX4

*Important Note: Please be aware that Suzuki has filed for bankruptcy protection and is shutting down its car business in the U.S.

The versatile 2013 Suzuki SX4 comes in three distinct flavors. The SX4 Crossover is a 5-door hatchback equipped with Suzuki's 3-Mode Intelligent All-Wheel-drive (i-AWD). The Sportback shares the Crossover's same body and interior, but is fitted with front-wheel drive, a sport suspension and a lower profile. Finally, there is the Sedan, available in LE and Sport trim, with the security of a trunk but the same sporty setup as the Sportback. Powered by a 2.0-liter engine, the SX4 isn't terribly fast, nor does it offer best-in-class fuel economy. What the SX4 does offer is a lot of content for a very low price. In particular, the SX4 Crossover represents a tremendous bargain, costing thousands less than a comparably-equipped AWD Subaru Impreza.

"I bought the first SX4 in Alabama, or so the dealer told me. Definitely the first one from that dealer. Wanted a 4x4 but didn't want a big one that guzzled gas big-time. On that score, I am happy, though for such a small car, I would've thought they could engineer at least 30 mpg with AWD turned off. 27 or 28 is close though, so OK. Had some consistent problems with a sensor near the oil filter that would trigger the Check Engine Light every time I changed the oil. Even when I took it to the dealership for an oil change and warned them about it, it still happened. Every time it happened my mileage suffered by about 5 - 8 mpg, so I had to take more time off from work to get the computer reset. Suzuki has kept taking care of the problem even though I'm past the warranty in miles, but it's still a design flaw and very annoying, so points are taken off for it from me. Had the car almost two years and I'm ready to trade it in. Can't say it's junk, and can't say it's a real prize. It's pretty so-so. Just not exciting enough to make me want to keep it any longer."

"I have had the SX4 for only a month, but have driven thru 2 major snowstorms. I can't believe how well this car handles icy roads and my unplowed driveway. (It hugs dry roads even better!) I saved $3500 over my second choice, the Subaru Impreza and could not be happier. No other car offers this many quality features for this value. I can't wait to use the fold-down seats when my landscaping business starts up in the spring."
