2011 Suzuki Grand Vitara

A Garmin-based navigation system was made standard in 2010, positioning the Grand Vitara as America's most affordable SUV with nav. For 2011 they've updated the Garmin to the 1600 system; it now includes a host of services, including real-time traffic, weather forecast, movie search, flight info and lowest gas price. They've also - and more notably - eliminated the V6 powerplant.

About Suzuki Grand Vitara

The junior member of Suzuki's appealing sport utility vehicle lineup, the compact Grand Vitara, provides a comfortable, versatile and very livable alternative to a conventional station wagon or crossover utility vehicle – and has the power and mechanical capability to complete its mission on or off the road. Available in base, XSport and Luxury trim, this slick Suzuki offers room for five, a generous assortment of standard features – including a V6 engine – plus the choice of rear- or full-time four-wheel drive, and wraps it in one of the longest and most owner-friendly warranties in the business. It needs all of that to compete in one of the toughest and most heavily populated markets, a segment where it must take on everything from the Ford Escape, Jeep Liberty, Mitsubishi Outlander and Saturn Vue to the Honda CR-V, Kia Sportage, Nissan Rogue and Toyota RAV4.

"Much better than american car. After two years I still love this car, very comfortable seats and stering wheel, performance is good enough and AWD works good on snow. Warranty covered a few minor problems I had. It has blind spots and unfortunately the rear seats are shaking making noticable noise. I had to put padding to get rid of it because dealersheep did not fix it. I do not like mpg which is 17 average and highway gives 21 max. The worst part that I paid 25K for luxury model two years ago and now I can get maybe $10-11K. Do not buy a new one but 2 years old will be a good deal."

"Overall excellent rating as GV has been very reliable, plenty of power, decent gas mileage, great styling, teriffic value compared to RAV4 or CRV. Couple this with excellent factory warranty and you have a great value. Only complaint is the amount of road noise that drums in from the tires. Hoping when I change to a better quality tire (from factory original Yokohamas), road noise will diminish. It's quite loud down the freeway at 65mph!"

"This was my first new car (got it with 500miles on it) in 2006. I have 91000 miles on it and its been great! this thing just keeps going! I plan to make it to 200,000 no joke. I have the oil changed religously and it shows. I have had the transmission fluid changed twice because I want it to run like the day I bought it forever. Sounds overdone I know but whats $200 bucks for a transmission service over a few years of driving. I wish I would have bought it with 4-wheel drive."
