overall rating 8 of 10rating details
"Overall excellent rating as GV has been very reliable, plenty of power, decent gas mileage, great styling, teriffic value compared to RAV4 or CRV. Couple this with excellent factory warranty and you have a great value. Only complaint is the amount of road noise that drums in from the tires. Hoping when I change to a better quality tire (from factory original Yokohamas), road noise will diminish. It's quite loud down the freeway at 65mph!"

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 91,000
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "Everything..."
Cons: "Gas milage could be better. K"

"This was my first new car (got it with 500miles on it) in 2006. I have 91000 miles on it and its been great! this thing just keeps going! I plan to make it to 200,000 no joke. I have the oil changed religously and it shows. I have had the transmission fluid changed twice because I want it to run like the day I bought it forever. Sounds overdone I know but whats $200 bucks for a transmission service over a few years of driving. I wish I would have bought it with 4-wheel drive."

"I bought this vechicle new,for size and awd 4wd ability, and for appearence. It is fantastic in the snow, better than my Chevrolet Suburban 4x4.It also came with a 7 year 100,000 mile power train warranty, which at the time was the best in the industry except Hyundai. The only complaints i,ve had were the fuel economy was not as good as i would have liked 20-22 MPG even strictly freeway. The second complaint were the factory tires which were Yokohamas only went 30,000 miles.I got the second set of Yokohamas promising to be much higher mileage than the original ones and only got 20,000.Prorated by discount tire co i,m on my third set and it doesnt seem to be getting any better.Michilens next time."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 3,800
overall rating 10 of 10rating detailsPros: "Mean off roader that looks like a pretty car"
Cons: "Can't get it away from wife"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I have only owned a Grand Vitira for 4 months, however I have broken in most of 100 new cars in my life, including a Jeep Wrangler and a Mercedes SLK. The car has amazing handling and braking. I was so impressed with the breaks I measured 2 60-0 distances and both times were just under 110 feet. People this is an astounding brakes for any type of car. I even measured m supercharged SLK roadster at the same spot and could not quite stop in 120 feet. It is also extremely quiet, but being a 2011 they may have recently started sound isolating the firewall. Like the suspension and drive train parts everything in this car has a heavy duty feel. The gauges and switches are very solid pretty and located exactly where they should be. But the coolest thing is the 4 way 4X4 which makes this the only car in its price range that has all time awd for roads and fully locked 4X4 for work and fun. The car also has a 50/50 weight distribution because most of the motor sites behind the front axle (being rear drive on frame based) as all of its Crossover competitors are front drive cars puffed up into station wagons with a shaft to the back. Front drive designs usually put more weight in front of the axle which actually lifts the rear end. Another thing that is lovely about it is road feel, it sings through the steering wheel like a radio receiver. Ill put it to you this way, Rave 4s and CRVs are only sold in about 15 countries on earth with good roads, the Grand Vitira is sold in 188, even the ones without roads. Only in these few nations do they take away the frame and transfer case locking 4X4 and then charge you 5K more."
