"I did not read ratings on this car, until after I bought it. The previous year (2004) and the following year (2006) were not rated well, but my 2005 was rated really well and they were right. This car has been fantastic. I wish I could buy the exact same one, all over again!!!"

Pros: "Dependable, good price, visibility"

Cons: "Low front bumper"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"I've owned this car for a few years. I can say the low front bumper is annoying but, you get use to it. Overall, this car has treated me really well. At first, I questioned why they are not popular in America. I was later informed that this Japanese car just couldn't get a foothold in our competitive market. However, is extremely popular in other countries. I have kept up on maintenance and it runs like a champ. It is pretty small and actually has quite a bit of power for its size. All I have replaced has been completely maintenance. It has good handling, good brakes, and great visibility. Some great pros are this car has no wires to regularly replace with spark plugs and uses a drive chain instead of belt. This has definitely taken the maintenance bill down for me. I love this car and I would recommend it to others, especially to new drivers. It is very reliable."

Pros: "I'll drive it until I can't stand the noise."

Cons: "badly engineered drive train no solultions"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1

"Bought the car new. At about 30,000 miles the manual transmission failed. No new or rebuilt transmissions are available. The tranny is very loud. The orbital gear is warped. I know of others with the same car and problem. Car runs fine but it sounds like a big worn out 2.5 ton truck. Very loud in the car and can't even hear the radio. Bad engineering in an otherwise good car."

Pros: "Energizer Cars they keep running & running"

Cons: "AC on these cars get old and need work"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"This is my second Suzuki Aureo and I would get another one but they no longer make them. These cars never give a problem. except for the usual wear and tear of a car and the needed service they need they just keep running and running and running. Oil Changes, Tire replacements Tune up occasionally battery replacement. They are the best Cars I have ever owned. The only problem and concern I have with the Suzuki is the AC units go out on them. Other than that they are like the Energizer Bunny they Keep Going and Going and Going!"

Pros: "Value"

Cons: "Tires"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 7

"One of the best values if you're utilitarian about car travel (ie commuting for the lowest price tag). One major flaw that i've heard from most owners are the tires. Something about this car damages the tires. You get flats every 20,000 miles or so."

Pros: "great price and fun to drive and reliable"

Cons: "factory tires only lasted about 25000 miles"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"I am the original owner of this car and other than the normal maintenance required, I haven't had a single mechanical failure with 168,000 and counting! It's too bad they stopped making this car or at least shipping it to the US. The only thing I missed having was a cruise control. It had everything but that."
