"Has plenty of space to haul anything! The 2.5 Boxer 4-cylinder may not be a racehorse, but it sure is peppy, and you're never scared about a lack of power. The ride is really smooth, and handling is great!"
"My little brown Subaru came to me as a freebie from my mom, I loved it, it was my first car. While over the years it began to not look so pretty it still ran great, and the key wore out before the car. I had such a good experience with this Subaru I went and got a brand new Impreza! I would recommend, even if it has a lot of miles (and I know it will) it will get you everywhere you want to go."
"Purchased this car about a year ago. I live in International Falls, MN. Typically known as THE coldest place in the USA, and one of the coldest inhabited places in the world. All the big fancy European car makers do cold weather testing up here to see if their vehicles are up to the challenge.
The AWD on the vehicle is great, the car can go through anything I've thrown at it. I can feel the grip and I've never had a "white-knuckle" moment driving it on snow covered highways.
Car reliably starts during the coldest winter days, which can sometimes reach -30F and even colder. I have not had a morning where I could not start this car before going to work. It cold started on days when a Honda Ridgeline and Ford F-150 would not (with no vehicles plugged in, even!).
I drive a 5-speed, shifting this vehicle is easy, and I've had no problems related to the clutch, transmission, or anything else. The performance of the car has been awesome.
HOWEVER. I have a couple of issues with it. The cup holder sucks, is flimsy, and the stupidest spot ever. The clock on mine (not sure if the light burnt out), does not light up. It drives me nuts. Also, the rear hatch had to be repaired three times before it would open and shut. One day, it simply would not open. It was taken apart and looked at three times before it would reliably open/shut again."
"This car has never failed me. It always gets me where I need to go and has no signs of failing after 220 thousand miles. If someone is looking for a cheap, reliable car that drives stupendously in the snow, the this car is for you.
My next buy will definitely be a Subaru model."
"I love my Subaru, 135,000 miles and still going strong. Perfect combination of carrying capacity and economy. Handles and accelerates well. Some minor caveats, although well designed some of the parts are made of cheap materials. I had some bolts break that shouldn't have. Also the window side windows have no frames which is an outdated design. The windows on the rear doors do not go all the way down."
"I bought this car in May 2015 with 127,000 miles.
The only thing I do not like about it is the cup holders, They spill out on corners. I do love this car everything in the right place. Good storage. Great engine. Fun to drive. Good mileage."
