"Wonderfully reliable and great handling 4WD compact. 4 spd automatic transmission is great in the mountains for engine braking on long descents. Only complaint is that it is not as comfortable on long hauls as my previous 1998 Impreza. Great little car!"
"The Subaru Impreza 2.5RS is an excellent car. Its a chunky feeling car that has been reliable to me with all malfunctioning parts have come from poor treatment from me and the previous owner. This car can be described as fun but not fast. I have the 4-speed and it took a little to get it going. The power is also probably sucked by the all wheel drive system (as I've heard that 30% of the cars power is lost in an all wheel drive system) and as a result the MPG's can kinda suck too. I rarely highway drive and in the winter I would get about 16 MPG when the car is rated at 20/26. Now in the summer its better but still 16 MPG hurts when you're a broke teenager paying for your own gas. And speaking of the winter, this car is awesome in snow. I chuckle as I pass by a big V8 truck spinning its wheels. And if you're not fond of this styling, Saab offered a mechanically identical car to the Impreza 2.5RS called the Saab 9-2X which had a more european look. Slightly cheaper but harder to find. But, solid car."
"I have owned this car since 2010 and this is not my first sports Subaru I have owned, This is my second with my first being a 2001 Impreza 2.5RS, both cars are very reliable, handle wonderfully decent enough on gas for what they can do.
With the wrx you can use 91-93 octaine and never have any issues.
I have done 3000 mile oil changes frequently and I am a daily driver and use my WRX all year long.
The car is quite old now and it's starting to show it's age with a slight engine nock how ever it's still very reliable and easily can do 0-60 in under 6 seconds depending on drivers skill and if standard.
Overall this car is great I love it and it came with a unique aftermarket body paint in 2010, Light green & black with huge WRX logo and STI spoiler on the back.
Even if the car was stock if another Subaru owner sees you and waves be sure to wave back it's a Subaru thing!
Enjoy the car if any one buys one I highly recommend it and my WRX being bought in 2010 for $6,500 still has minimal issues like surface rust, o2 sensors and things like that as time goes on.
Nothing really major except a clutch change but that's to be expected considering the OEM clutch lasted until I hit 190K miles.
This won't be my last WRX, I am actually looking for another one so I can have two for different seasons."
Pros: "Like a little go-cart, snappy and fun to drive."
Cons: "Please make the next ones out of stainless steel!"

"Best car I ever owned. Even at 193000 miles, I think I could jump in it, and PROBABLY make it cross country. Has had regular oil changes at 3000 miles, and still uses no oil between changes. What's not to like?"
