"I've owned several Toyota trucks in the past, the ride on the Scion xB surpasses the ride quality of the trucks. I'm 50 yo and it's very easy to get in and out of, the build quality is excellent as well as the gas mileage. Overall I love this "small suv" it has a tight turning radius and it has plenty of get up and go for a four cylinder. I think the stereo is very nice in that it is ipod compatible. At my age it's nice to see such an excellent vehicle for the price, I traded in an 06 Corvette, and although I really liked the Corvette It was getting harder for me to get in and out of, plus the gas mileage was terrible. Excellent value for the money!"

"On plus side: easy to get in and out, lots of room, zippy performance, good gas mileage. On the minus side: no light on the driver's door- always have to hunt for the window and lock buttons, passenger seat does not fold down forward so limited in carrying long items i.e. 8' boards, ladder, etc. Had an electrical/computer malfunction that crippled the car. Had to go to dealer repair shop twice until mechanics could find problem and repair. Cheezy dashboard material hard to keep clean; looks cheap and scratches easily."

"I first want to point out I own a 2008 Special Release Scion XB which mechanically is identical to the 2010. Over the past 1 1/2 years, I've put 38,000 miles on this car. So far, nothing but routine oil changes every 5k miles. Stock tires replaced at 35k miles with Michelin Primacy MXV4's - much better than the stock Goodyears. Car is very versatile (especially when coming home with big boxes from Ikea!). For carrying larger items, we had an aftermarket hitch installed which you can barely see. Lots of headroom, spacious interior. One of my main complaints is the radio, the 4 way controller is horrible when using integrated I-Pod hookup, more so when the car is in motion. Odd enough, the supplied cable powers my I-Pod, but not my I-Touch. On highways, I get approx 33mpg, pure city driving approx 24 mpg.Luckily my Special Release came with a sunroof, no problems yet. I would definitely recommend this car."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 800
overall rating 9 of 10rating detailsPros: "Insane cheap price, Room, great handling"
Cons: "needs 6th gear! engine noise (due to no 6th gear)"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9
"Just bought this car and traded in my 2009 Chevy Cobalt. Other considerations were a VW sport wagon, Subaru Imprezza, but the price of the XB cannot be beat by any car made with this much room. This is not a luxury car by any means, but is a great car to haul stuff around and get decent mileage. Mine has a 5 speed manual, and my only gripe is it needs a 6th gear. It runs at high RPM on the highway which can be a little noisy, but this really isn't a big deal considering the other high points of the car and the insane $17,000 purchase price. So far I'm getting 27mpg average (only 800 miles on it so far), and when I set the cruise at 55mph, I get 34-36mpg (according the the instant mpg reading in the dash). My list of great points. -The room! So much room! -The heater cranks out the heat, very quickly. Love the heater -The bluetooth connectivity to my IPhone 5 is mind blowing. Apps like Pandora, Tune In Radio work wonderfully and displays the songs on the radio and gives you full steering wheel control to skip songs, rewind(tunein radio), etc... This is awesome! When you get a phone call, you just hit the phone button on the stereo. No need to take the IPhone out of your pocket. -The nice bright high beams! My lower points... that I can think of.... - no daytime running lights that turn on automatically - doesn't' charge your phone with the car off (that's a toyota thing) - no 6th gear...like I said... automatics are probably better on highway."

"My first xb was a 2009, it was practical, reliable and a great alternative to those pricey mini SUVs. I loved that car, and I loved it even more when I was "t-boned" by a woman talking on her cell phone who ran a red-light, my car was totaled, but I was unharmed. It was a no brainer to replace my 2009 xb with a 2010 xb. And I loved my 2010 xb just as much as my first. Call it both bad luck and a miracle, but I was again hit by a speeder running a red-light, and my 2010 protected me and my kindergartner like a champ. We were completely unharmed, though our 2010 was totaled. So now after almost three years and two xbs, we once again had to get a new car. Though tempted by the Camry, we remained loyal to the car that is not only a super value, but literally a lifesaver two times over. The 2011 xb we purchased will hopefully be with us for a very long time. We are no urban hipsters, just a suburban couple in their 40s with a kid who want a car that is safe, reliable and a great deal of bang for the buck. Scion is missing the boat by not marketing to folks like us who want simply the best all around car value! So onward and upward... A simple car that is quite simply then best!"
