Pros: "Great seating position, overall fine design."

Cons: "not standard, crusie control, not all dash lights"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I have used the scion more different ways than any other vehicle i've owned. with the surf board racks I haul lumber and plywood. with the rear seats down I haul just about everything else, the seats should be covered in a more durable fabric. The instrument cluster where the AC is needs lighting, a driver needs to be able to see all the gauges and other instruments day and night. I'm not sure why the XB2 is not still sold in the states, but that was a mistake to stop, the Soul and others like it sure took off. When you make and sell an item I believe you should make it like the consumer is going to use it forever, not keep it a few years then get another."

"Had this car for over 10 years now, what a great little car. Super spacious, can fit so many things in the back and the rear leg room is huge, more than the average compact car these days. The car is super light so its pretty fun to drive around the city. Steering feel is awesome, hydraulic, however the response time is a little but slow. There is body roll since it is a tall car. Long distance driving on highway is good, but there is wind noise and if its super windy car can get wobbly.Love this car, will keep driving this until it dies, hopefully never!"

Pros: "Fuel economy, very roomy, reliability, good engine"

Cons: "Slow take off, slow acceleration, hard suspension"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Excellent fuel economy, sporty, very roomy, reasonably comfortable, very reliable. Bought it used /w 22k and has never broken down in 10 years. Only repair was back wheel bearings began to make loud noise at 70k ($100 repair). It is a slow car entering highway but once you get going it can keep up and handling is good. I towed my motorcycle twice from Orlando to Burmingham, Alabama, on hilly terrain with no problems. I towed around 1000 lb many times, amazingly it can take it. Everyone complements how big it inside. I found it too square and ugly but the style takes getting used to and build up on you. Anyway a car is really just a box with four wheels. I don't like the newer ones. I prefer this older original model. I drive my cars hard and this car has withstood my abuse. I always check all fluids, inspect it often, and I use only synthetic oil. I love this car so much. I highly recommend it."

The "Green Machine" loaded up for a day on the lake

"If you are thinking of buying this car, do it. I am an active married 40 year old woman with no kids. I bought the bright green Release Series 3 model brand new 10 years ago and it's still going strong. It has only needed minor repairs such as replacing an exhaust gasket, and the usual maintenance stuff such as brakes, spark plugs and cables, oil changes, etc. Still passes inspection every time. I have added fog lights to it, a tow hook on the front and back, and a roof rack. I can throw my canoe on top of it with no problems. The tow hooks that stick out of the bumpers are a pretty awesome option too, very handy for tying down my canoe! The inside is actually huge! Lots of head room, lots of rear seat leg room (which is rare these days, and if you fold down the rear seats you can fit big pieces of furniture back there. My husband has a land rover discovery and the inside of this car with the seats folded down is bigger than the inside of his suv! I've used this car to move from apartments quite a few times! I can also just throw my 2 large golden retrievers in the back and go! I'm not sure how roomy it would be with kids, there's not much storage space in the way back behind the rear seats for strollers, etc. Has a great sound system and rear seat TVs! Love that! Although my cd player is starting to act up, wont eject the cd when I want it to. The power locks are also acting up, probably something electrical. Who knows, its not problematic enough to have it fixed. There are a few things that can be improved, and actually I think the newer models have done so. The first thing is the pickup/motor. It is slow taking off, and really struggles up hills. Especially if the AC is on! I also think it could use more lower back support on the front seats. Not too comfy on the back during long trips. The sun visor needs to be a little longer for the side window, or maybe make a drop down visor on the side? This model needs cruise control! Also inconvenient for long trips. The car handles pretty nicely as well. My husband says I drive it "Italian Job" style. I can take some tight turns with it. It also has no problem going about 70-80mph on the highway. You wont even notice that you're going that fast until you look at the speedometer. Have also had quite a few near misses with other cars and swerving with no problems. Nothing too crazy though, it is top heavy so I would think it could roll pretty easily. Its not very aerodynamic, the wind really affects it, and it's really loud inside. Lots of wind noise on the highway! The interior could use some better soundproofing. It's pretty much like driving a boxy mini-van. This car also gets GREAT gas mileage, even 10 years later. Only costs me about 16 bucks to fill the tank. Although when gas prices were really high, it was almost 30-35 to fill! All in all, I love my little Scion. It has treated me well, and is super reliable. It's got 107,000 miles on it and I expect to accumulate many more. I'm the type of person who will drive a car until something major happens to it, like something major mechanically. Thanks for reading!"

Pros: "Fun to drive"

Cons: "No center console or arm rest"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"It was rear-ended by a big semi truck and I miss it. Would love to have another one if the insurance company will give me enough to pay it off the last three payments and buy another one. Would have to outright, I have lousy credit and only a part time self-employed position for work. =( But I loved my Xb, it was a great little car... TLR"

Pros: "Fuel efficient, spacious, fun to drive"

Cons: "Small console area, small mirrors"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I plan to drive my Scion xB until the wheels fall off. I used to think they were ugly, but ten years ago, my dad and I took my uncle's xB on a road trip and I fell in love. I couldn't believe how spacious it was. I was 13 then and I never thought I would actually own one. Four years ago while car shopping I happened to stumble upon a well-priced xB on Craigslist and I've had the car ever since then! I've never had any major problems with it, it's great on gas, and I love the look of it. The only things I would change are minor."
