Cons: "Tailgaters, more sound insulation from the road."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10
"I bought this car in 2014 to save gas and keep the miles off my truck (and save gas). I just wanted an a to b car. Well this car is nothing short of amazing. 38 mpg on the highway and rides like a car much bigger than what it is.
I can fold down the rear seat, and it becomes a handy hauler. Its also loaded with a/c, power windows, locks, rear wiper/defogger and washer, 4 speed automatic, delay wipers, tilt wheel, cd player that is really powerful, great brakes, handles great (most little cars do, but this one is that good). And a rare, from the factory center arm rest that doubles as a storage compartment. I did add fog lights to it (didn't come with them) and Factory XB wheels. Very nice.
Parking is fantastic. It will fit just about anywhere.
As usual, you don't get much respect on the road. But nothing it can't handle there either. It will run away from most goof balls, especially in turns.
I would, and have recommended this car to anyone. I would definitely buy another. I especially like the IQ. Might be the only car to replace this one.
"I bought this car last year as my first car and I love it. It's such a great first time car because it's easier to maneuver and learn everything on. The only thing I would complain about is like a review below, it does have a little blind spot on the left while driving but nothing that you can't work around. I definitely recommend this to anyone that wants a reliable small car especially if you live in the city!"
"My Scion is 10 years old, and it's still going strong! It's been totally reliable, very low maintenance, and it has great maneuverability on the road. The interior is surprisingly roomy for the size of the car, and a crazy amount of stuff fits in the back with the seats down. There's also plenty of hip room since there's no center console, so it's a very comfortable car even on long trips.
The only cons are so minor they're hardly worth mentioning - the windshield wipers aren't the best, and there's a bit of a blind spot on the side of the windshield that sometimes hides pedestrians, but those are really the only things I could possibly complain aboubt.
The Scion Xa is a fantastic vehicle and it's a shame they were only made for a couple of years."
"I got this car in college and assumed that it would bite the dust leaving me to upgrade to a larger suv after college. Well, 10 yrs later I am still driving this car. It's too practical to let go. It's never given me trouble and filling up the gas tank is easy breezy. I would be stupid to let this car go!"
"I've owned this car for close to 5 years and put close to 50,000 miles on it. I've had to replace the motor mounts, and fan motor for the a/c. Other than that just normal maintenance items (brakes, tires, oil change, battery), this car has performed very well. It's a very dependable car, gets in the 24-25 range for MPG with in town driving. This makes for a perfect in town commuter type car, or first car for the kids."
