I own this car - My approximate mileage is 150,000overall rating 8 of 10rating details
Pros: "Good mpg, fun to drive, practical"
Cons: "Small, no jack to play my mp3 player through"

"I purchased my Saturn Ion Quad Coupe brand new with 12 miles on it in June 2004. It has been my daily driver most days since then. That is when gas was headed for $2/gallon and we were all going to die. Because of the 4-door configuration on the coupe and the fold-down rear seats, it is easy to get huge things in and out. I have put in 10' long vinyl siding corners one day, and a Lazy Boy Recliner a different. The furniture store kids thought I was nuts, but it was easy (the chair back unclips on that brand). Doors, windows, and trunk closed every time. Can even haul a few rigid things 9' long. Of course, that's when it's a 1-seater. The go-kart feel is fun to drive and I like where everything is positioned. I'm going to miss this car when it's time comes. I plan to get to 250,000 miles some day. It gets a consistent 30 mpg in the Summer Ethanol, and 28 mpg in the Winter (10% Ethanol, 90% gasoline). One trip when it was much newer, I got 36 mpg on a trip across South Dakota. I recommend this car, but get your own. I'm keeping this one."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 136,000overall rating 6 of 10rating details
Pros: "Good gas mileage"
Cons: "Unable to service,as far as parts."
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 2
"Disappointed in the way car was represented to me. Overpriced for a used car. 11 yrs old and 136,000 on it and sold to me for 3x the money it was worth. Also Chevy unable to replace headlights, because of condensation in headlights. 3rd attempt to replace headlights. I feel as if sales rep and tech rep took advantage of disabled citizen. Explained to both I couldn't afford to make pmts. went to look at 2007 cobalt listed online for 2,850.00 ended up with a 2004 Saturn ion which Chevy is unable to service."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 108,500overall rating 7 of 10rating details
Pros: "fun drive, light/speedy, sporty, great gas mileage"
Cons: "not good in winter, too light, expensive tranny"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 4
"Loved driving this car the past few years. It is sporty looking, has unique doors, great color, super quick and a nice interior. However, living in Montana this car is impractical. It doesn't do well on ice and snow because it is so light. During the summer months it was a great fast little car with fantastic gas mileage. Only issue would be that this particular model has a very expensive transmission so replacing it isn't worth it."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 130,000overall rating 3 of 10rating details
Pros: "Nice stereo system, comfortable to drive"
Cons: "Too many repairs needed (exclud. reg. maintenance)"
Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1
"I fell in love with this car when I seen it. After a few months, came the problems. After a few years, came the recalls. Besides ALL of the REACALLS, it was just a complete nightmare owning the Saturn Ion. Even with regular maintenance, there was always something going on under the hood. I spent at least, 6 grand in repairs, just to keep this car in running condition. So ridiculous! Worst car I've ever had!! Wish I would've done my research on this car before buying it from a lot."
