If you need a pickup truck that is as tough as the rugged image it portrays, but you'd also like something with a civilized ride and a nice interior to double as the family road-trip machine, the 2012
If you're looking for best-in-class figures for resale, horsepower or fuel economy, the Ram's competitors take top honors in all these fields.
The 2012 Ram 1500's strong suit over comparably-equipped competitors can be found in the way it drives and rides. Thanks to an advanced coil-spring rear suspension and solid rear axle, the Ram 1500 seems to absorb bumps and distortions that cause other trucks to hop about. Trucks with a traditional leaf-spring rear suspension setup tend to ride harshly and can even experience bounding motions over ruts and uneven pavement. This is not the case for the Ram 1500, which can quickly control bouncing motions and help smooth out the ride over harsh o

"I have owned my 2013 RAM Bighorn for about 2 months. I love almost everything about this truck and after researching other similar trucks (Tundra, Chevy)I found this one to be the best buy...and the best looking. The Crew Cab has a lot of extra legroom in the back and I love the storage compartments in the floor and under the seats. The ride is very smooth and I can feel the power of the Hemi every time I touch the gas pedal. So far I have been slightly disappointed with the gas mileage...if you use midgrade or premium gas and are light on the pedal you will be lucky to get the advertised 13mpg in the city...but hey its a Hemi and I expected to take a hit on the MPG. I am surprised that RAM did not employ some of the same features as on my 2011 Dodge Durango (push button start, keyless touch entry) but I love the power rear box window and the multitude of storage cubby's and cup holders. I highly recommend spending the extra cash to get the Uconnect system...Over all, I absolutely love my truck and it was the best new vehicle purchase I ever made."

"I have always been a GM guy. I bought this Ram because it was sitting next to a GMC just like it. Theywere the same year, same color, same tires, wheels, options, and you get the point. The GMC was more expensive with 10k more miles. It did not accelerate as well or get as good mpg. The Ram has a rougher ride and with only a 5 speed transmission I was worried at first would not keep up with the GM. It was faster, better acceleration, and just overall more power. I may never buy another GM if Ram keeps getting better. Finally, the Ram Boxes are a must. you can put anything in them. They will work as a cooler and hold water or like extra storage for your 6 shotguns when you go hunting."
