Tri-zone automatic climate control is made standard. The attention-grabbing 360-horsepower GTS model can be found on showroom floors this year, although technically it's a 2017 model.

The 2015 Porsche Macan is an all-new compact SUV – never been seen before on this planet and unprecedented for Porsche.

About Porsche Macan

More agile sports car than terrain-tackling SUV, the 2016 Macan SUV from Porsche is everything you'd expect from the storied car manufacturer, and a few things you might not expect. Derived from the Audi Q5 platform, Porsche's take on the SUV concept starts with a distinctive exterior, standard all-wheel drive (AWD) and a trio of ridiculously powerful twin-turbocharged V6 engine choices, including a 400-horsepower beast in the Turbo trim. A PDK 7-speed automatic transmission is the only transmission choice. Combining luxury, power and performance, the Macan is more a hyper-sports wagon than an off-road-ready SUV, making its primary competition the Audi SQ5, Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and BMW X3, all of which cost considerably less than the pricey Macan.

Pros: "Priced okay, I like the sports car roar on startup"

Cons: "Bose system is hard to discern it's value"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"The car is great for long distance driving as well as city driving. I get 27 mpg on the highway. The safety features, while pricey, are worth it. It handles extremely well; seats are oomfy with no back problems going long distance; luxury inside is prevalent, but not overstated."

Pros: "true driving experience"

Cons: "gas mileage could be better."

"coming out of Boxster, I am completely thrilled driving the Macan... I can now shop at Costco and carry my golf clubs. Only one short trip so far, but impossible to tell how fast you are going unless you look at the odometer. 80mph feels like 40mph. Handling and shifting is impeccable. 14 way seats are comfortable. Visibility is great. The optional LCA keeps you informed of cars coming up in your blind spots.. parking in tight spots made easier by cameras. Only Option I forgot to add was adaptive Cruise Control. If you want a sports car and a crossover SUV size this is the vehicle for you. Base price is reasonable, but as you put on the accessories it adds up.. and oh yes the Panoramic roof really lets the light in."

Pros: "Porsche character and quality, ordinary price."

Cons: "Expensive options (that I could live without!)"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Porsche took basically good chassis from Audi and then massaged to make a real Porsche driving experience. Makes no pretense of being true off-road capable, but thereby achieves great performance as a real world fun and practical transporter. Great brakes, great trans, great engine and great handling; then details such as interior layout, engine note, steering wheel that can not be mistaken for anything but Porsche. Only sour note is dud stock stereo and way overpriced escapes (Bose and Burmester). A home run by Porsche without a doubt."
