"Tires, brakes, battery and a new water pump ... that and oil changes are all the work it has needed in 7 years ... hard to beat, and it still looks great"

Pros: "Motor/drivetrain/handling."

Cons: "Cheap-feeling interior."

"I only buy German. Purchased this Cayman S in 2011 with 28k miles on the odometer. Typical Porsche product: Beautiful lines, comfortable Recaro seats, second-to-none engine/drivetrain (manual 6-speed)and ergonomically-designed interior. As in all Porsches, the interior fit and finish leaves a lot to be desired but one does not buy a Porsche for its cup-holders or oddly-placed compartments. A Porsche has only one mission - make each and every drive fun - not mundane. Finally, nothing else in the world sounds like a Porsche engine - musical nectar of the Gods."

Pros: "A great sports car with lots of personality."

Cons: "Little noisy; little stiff riding; poor gas mileag"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I've owned a lot of sports cars from English sport cars in the '70s, Miata, Corvette, and a couple of Porsche 911s. This car is my all time favorite. It looks fantastic and it drives like a true sports car. Its very livable. Once inside, the there is plenty of head room (I'm 6'2" tall.) The seats in mine are powered memory and heated. The controls are right where you want them to be. There is lots of usable luggage space. I am a retired engineer and I like to do my own maintenance and minor repairs. Despite this being a mid engine car, it is quite easy to work on. There are access panels to the engine bay that allow considerable access. Oil changes are a breeze. Driving it is always a pleasure. It has lots of power; maybe not supercar power, but nearly 300 hp which is plenty. It handles like its on rails. A little stiff on bumpy roads but , hey, its a Porsche sports car. Overall, I highly recommend the 2006 Porsche Cayman S."

2008 Porsche Cayman - Basalt Black Metallic w/ Beige Leather Interior

"This car is amazing. First, I'll address the 9/10 that I gave for "Value". The Cayman will cost you more money than other vehicles, such as the 350z or Z4, but what you are paying for is the Porsche experience; and it doesn't disappoint. The car handles like nothing you've ever driven. With a mid-mounted engine, you feel at one with the Cayman - similar to wearing a backpack. Every turn is fluid and precise. The manual gearbox is excellent and has the firm "rifle-bolt" feel. The clutch is strong and the engagement point is very easy to detect. The appearance of the car is striking and the sleek lines make for a unique look. The interior lacks many bells and whistles that other vehicles in the price range would have, but the Cayman has everything necessary to enjoy a minimalist, driver's experience. In my experience, the reliability is very good, with a 36,000 mile "Major Maintenance" costing around $600.00 and a "Minor Maintenance" running about $300.00."

"Great dependable car no issues ever. only bad thing is it is built for someone 5'9" or less. I am 6 feet tall. I can still fit, but I think it is worth it. can be a garage queen or a daily driver. drive it to the track, race it, then drive back home."

Pros: "most fun on wheels, reliable, great styling"

Cons: "cost of car and cost of repairs (only 1 in 4 yrs)"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I bought a used 2007 Cayman S 4 years ago(I was the 4th owner in 3 yrs). Most reliable car I have ever owned- previous 2 were BMW 5-series, last one 540i with Sport option, and while the BMW is a lot fun to drive (realizing that comparing the 2 cars is not really fair as they have completely aims) the Cayman always leaves a smile on my face after driving. No question that I would buy another Porsche."
