Say hello to "Baby"

"Bought this 10 year old 2004 Boxster S beauty with 14,500 miles on it in May 2014. It is flawless, like showroom floor new. The former lady owner called it her 'Baby' she said she never took it to to mall, or grocery shopping, or out in bad weather. I absolutely love this car, its like a dream come true. The two things everyone says the first time they see it is: "Wow, nice car-I love the color!" It's Lapis Blue, with grey top and leather interior. Best part is I average 25 mpg on the highway at 70-80 mph and 21-22 in city driving. My wife love to drive it with the top down. Its a Tiptronic Automatic trans, I am told they are bullet proof."

Good Condition

"This sports car is in very good condition, new brakes, new tires, rebuilt engine with only 60000 miles. Very clean interior, seats are worn. Has some minor exterior scratches and a small dent on the right side under the door. everything is operational such as, power seats, auto heat and air conditioning and power roof open and close."

Pros: "It's a Porsche, what else need be said?"

Cons: "None"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Have owned my 2003 for just over 1 year and have put about 11k miles on it. I was very concerned about all the hype on the IMS failures with these engines but do your research. The failure rate on the 2003 or newer is less than 20% and most of those are on cars with low mileage due to not being driven regularly. Parts can be expensive but there are options for online OEM parts and if you find a good independent qualified mechanic that will help lower costs. As with any Porsche be sure to get a good Pre-purchase inspection done by a dealership or qualified mechanic familiar with Porsches or the Boxster specifically. Driving the car is a blast! They handle like nothing else out there that is affordable. Surprising amount of space for a small 2 seater and very comfortable on long trips. Have done trips of 9+ hrs per day and no complaints from my wife! Gas mileage is surprisingly good. On long road trips in ND and MN I have averaged 28 to 31 mpg at speeds of 75-80 mph on the interstate."

"No way would I ever let this go for 12 grand. All the updates and stainless exhaust alone make it worth at least 15 k . I think I will keep it."

Pros: "fun, quick, affordable sports car"

Cons: "defective IMS can be catastrophic engine failure"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Great values on these cars now, but IMS could make it a very expensive paperweight. Shop around, make sure you find one with regular maintenance that has been driven regularly. The ones that have had the IMS retrofit are worth A LOT more, no ticking time bomb inside."

Pros: "Superb Drivers car"

Cons: "Porsche believe its cars are to b driven not dinin"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"The Porsche Boxster S is as finely engineered a mass production automobile as a company can design and build. It is almost bullet-proof and is environmentally responsible. If driven properly with a 6 speed manual it can get near 30 MPG and still be able to pass other vehicles going uphill. Its only limitations are interior space, MAP upgrades for the 16bit Nav system and it wears out rear tires 2X faster than front tires."
