"Best car ever, use it as a daily driver and it has not let me down. The driving experience is one that I look forward to every day. Strongly recommend the PSE for a deeper melodious engine sound. Who needs a radio?"

Pros: "iconic sports car"

Cons: "expensive purchase price and service upkeep"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Never had a failure, been towed, or even stopped. solid construction, quality interior. does not burn oil. efficient, good mileage. great A/C, seats by Recaro, Brembo brakes, the best. the faster you drive, the better it feels. Suspension is hard, but that is to be expected for the handling you get. Sound insulation is low, there is a lot of tire noise at highway speed; that is the only annoyance."

Pros: "I take the mountain road home every day !!!!!!"

Cons: "The back tires are expansive, and hard to get."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"I shopped around for about two years, then bought a 2003 3.6 996. I have put 15,000 miles on the car in the past year, change the oil every 5000 miles. The cool thing about having a 9.5 qt capacity is that the oil is still doing its job and in good shape at 5000 miles,do to the capacity. If you are shopping for a 911, I recommend getting the traction control delete 2 wheel drive 3.6. Compare the performance numbers between the 3.4 and 3.6, then compare the c2, c4 ,c4s i think you will be surprised."

Pros: "fun to drive, ok m.p.g., great handling, looks"

Cons: "unreliable, high maintenance"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 4

"I bought this car to replace my 1994 Nissan 300zx. I bought it with about 60,000 miles on it and have driven it about 15K miles in the last 3 years. The car is lots of fun to drive, has some quickness, feels light, steering has great road feel. The ride is much more comfortable than I expected, even on bad roads and gas mileage is a fairly pleasant 19 mp.g. in mixed driving. On the other hand the interior looks very chintzy and plasticky for a luxury sports car but the real issue is reliability. Soon after buying it I had the rear main seal leak (very common). Due to the all electronics the battery will also die if not driven often and the electronic hood release doesn't seem like a well thought out feature. The main issue is a stalling issue that the dealer can't fix. Spent thousands (replace purge valve 3x, carbon canister 2x, and a host of other things). Getting rid of it since car can't seem to be fixed and isn't really driveable currently. Would I buy another - yes. It is so sharp and fun to drive I might try once more but I wouldn't own another 996 model if it was given for free."

Pros: "Would not allow me to add photo"

"I think the 911-4 S is one on the most beautiful sports cars on the market. It is not the most comfortable or quite car, but it is a sports car. Stiff handling for good road control etc. Lots of power. And the most beautiful styling out there especially the 911 4- and the turbo with the air-vent etc."
