Pros: "Little to no mechanical issues, fun to drive"

Cons: "Light colored interior, no rear cup holders"

"I purchased my 2004 Pontiac Sunfire in June of 2014. I purchased the vehicle with 39,000 miles on it and my car has been nothing but reliable since the purchase. It has lasted me through the winter in Maryland which was rather harsh this year. I had to replace one set of breaks once but they told me I would have to do that within the first six months when I bought the car so it was expected. Other than regular oil changes and maintenance my car has not seen the inside of a shop. I would highly recommend this car for anyone's first it is quick and reliable."

Pros: "Very dependable and good in snow"

Cons: "Have to replace tires and brake pads frequently."

"First, let me tell you that this has been a heck of a car. When I bought it in July of 2004 it only had 3750 miles on.It has been through my daughter,step-son,wife and me over the years. It has hit 2 deer and had someone hit the left quarter panel. With the exception of tire and brakes and normal service this car takes a licking and keeps on ticking.I can go turn the key (in any type of weather)and she fires right up.I wish that I had 10 more that would be as dependable as this car has been."

Pros: "Fun car to drive with a good price"

Cons: "Nothing I can think of."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I bought my 2003 Sunfire brand new with 14 miles on it . I now have 171,500 on it and I am still in love with this car. The only repairs I have had to do was replace the fuelpump, repair the shifting linkage , and last but not least replace the top motor mount . For a car with this much milage and my driving habits that is pritty impressive for any car. This is the most dependable car I have ever owned. It is a shame they stopped making the Pontiac series car as they were GMs best looking and reliable series of cars."

"My 2000 Sunfire has 170K on the odometer. Can I buy a new or used car - sure - do I want a car payment - no. Of course had the normal items to repair - tires, brakes, transmission, water pump etc. But I love my car and if I buy another car - will keep my Sunfire.."

2002 Pontiac Sunfire GT

"Back in 2002, I wanted a good looking, sporty car without the high price tag. After looking around, I chose my 2002 Pontiac Sunfire GT. It has been an excellent and reliable car. I keep it in good shape, and get compliments on how it looks like a new car. I hope to continue driving my GT for many more years."

Pros: "Fun ride, quick, handles well, great fuel economy"

Cons: "Unreliable, cheap interior,"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 3

"I've owned my Sunfire for a little under two years, and can easily say I've spent close to $3,000 on repairs for this thing. The car is quick for a 4 cylinder, and handles fairly well, making it a very fun car to drive. Also gets fabulous gas mileage if you drive under 2500 RPMs. However, no amount of fun can make up for the issues I've had with this car. From tranny problems, to electrical issues, to the doors not closing because they are too heavy for their hinges to hold, this car has been a consistent headache for me. The car has alot of odd things that will make you mad, and some odd things you'll enjoy. For instance, the cup holders are located directly in front of the climate control, so you can't change the temperature if you have a drink there. On the other hand, the glove box is enormous, which often comes in handy. I haven't had any major issues in the past few months; except all types of bad noises coming from all over."
