2004 GTO

"A Cadillac quality built car with a 350 hp fully Corvette tuned LS1, the 1st time a Corvette motor has been used in anything else. Add a 6 spd manual trans and and independant rear suspension like a Vette or Jaguar uses, 4 wheel discs. The car is as docile as any other car in normal day driving, however step into the throttle and a beast unleashes and every car around you falls back , the sounds are intoxicating still, the power is addictive! I love getting on the freeway and flooring it through the 1st 2 gears and into 3rd before I cruise and set to 6th at 80 and at 2k rpms! getting 27 mpg! Or turn off the traction control and drive it like you stole it and get 9 mpg! I get compliments every day on it."

Pros: "Fun to Drive. Fast. Tire Smoke!"

Cons: "Expensive to maintain/upgrade"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 7

"As far as reliability goes, these cars have a few well known issues that are common among them and parts are not cheap. I would not recommend this as a daily driver car. However, it is a very fun car to drive and it is fast. The the horsepower per dollar value of this car is definitely among the best, if not the best, of any other car."

Pros: "Lots - just drive one."

Cons: "Poor fuel economy"

"Currently own a 2006. Previously owned a 2004. These cars are fun to drive and have lots of power. The interior is great. If you take good care of them, these cars will treat you well. The LS engines are amazing."

Pros: "Fun! Fun! and . . . . Fun! (And well-built.)"

Cons: "MPG ==15. Horrid in snow (unless 4 snow tires.)"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Car is actually a Holden (Australian brand) coupe with a Corvette engine (LS1) and transmission (6-sp man). Very powerful (350hp), handles very well (except in snow!), tons of fun to drive. Wears out rear tires fast! Everyone wants to race you off of lights. Resist the urge. Tickets get expensive. Fit and finish - better than any American car I've ever driven. After 100k miles, no rattles, no worn-out upholstery, most every gadget and function still works like new. Colors in interior unfaded. Ext paint in great shape. Motor still sounds like new - no ticks, knocks, etc. Most GTO's ended up in the hands of heavy modifiers - i.e., fancy exhausts, optimized air intakes, racing suspensions. If you can find one that was NOT modified, then it probably wasn't raced, and will last forever."
