"Best 2 door coupe I've ever owned. ROCK solid, balls to the wall torque monster. Ten years later it still gets puzzled looks, and a lot of them. 2 tons of METAL with plastic fascias, and that's about it. Most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. So far I've replaced one driving light bulb, a pothole cracked rim, rotors and pads and on wheel bearing hub, plugs once, and oil and filters religiously. Hot days - cold days, it don't care, rain, shine or snow it stays glued to the road. I LOVE this car!"
"I owned some 4th generation F-body cars in the past, and am a fan of V8 rear wheel drive cars. I am very impressed with the overall fit and finish of these cars. I knew it would have good power with the LS based engine, but I was surprised how well these cars handle with some spirited driving through the country.
The interior is great. I love the 4 bucket seats that hug your body, and the factory sound system is impressive. The road noise is very low also.
My only gripe is that it gets too much wheel hop when you power-shift it. I plan to add some stiffer rear springs and probably air bags before I hit the drag strip.
I'm running no cats and long tube headers through the factory mufflers and tail pipes. It idles nice and quiet, but sounds like a banshee at WOT."
"I've owned too many cars to list and they all have had features that I liked that drew me to the car. I've had this car for about 6 months now and have to say I am very much impressed with this car! You've got ample power, great handling, comfortable ride, and one of the more comfortable seats I've experienced. Performance is MORE than ample given the LS1 motor. Parts can be a bit pricey for some things. Hard to believe when your behind the wheel that this car is 11 years old. Hope to enjoy this car for many more years."
"I love this car. The seats are really comfortable, the ride is great, handling is great and performance is awesome for four passenger coupe. The only downside to the entire car was the fact that the thread used for sewing the seats in the GTO was not UV rated and the back seat seams split where the sun hits the upper sides."
"This '04 GTO was built on 29 September 2003 -- #243 produced!! I have provenance from GM so recognizing, and I've had her in my "stable" since about 9,000 miles. She's presently 46,000 miles old.
All told, I own seven (7) distinctly different rides from "Muscle Cars" like the '64 GTO and '70 Dodge Challenger to late model speed like a 2006 Dodge Charger now sporting a 6-speed Keisler manual transmission. I've bought and sold dozens of other rides along the way to today's "Magnificent Seven". While I'm sure someone out there has a ride that beats it, nothing stock I've ever owned compares to this '04 GTO, a.k.a., "little black rocket".
Come out and see her run sometime at the Muncie Dragway!!"
