"Currently own a 2006. Previously owned a 2004. These cars are fun to drive and have lots of power. The interior is great. If you take good care of them, these cars will treat you well. The LS engines are amazing."

Best-built auto I've ever owned. Most fun, too.

Pros: "Fun! Fun! and . . . . Fun! (And well-built.)"

Cons: "MPG ==15. Horrid in snow (unless 4 snow tires.)"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"Car is actually a Holden (Australian brand) coupe with a Corvette engine (LS1) and transmission (6-sp man). Very powerful (350hp), handles very well (except in snow!), tons of fun to drive. Wears out rear tires fast! Everyone wants to race you off of lights. Resist the urge. Tickets get expensive. Fit and finish - better than any American car I've ever driven. After 100k miles, no rattles, no worn-out upholstery, most every gadget and function still works like new. Colors in interior unfaded. Ext paint in great shape. Motor still sounds like new - no ticks, knocks, etc. Most GTO's ended up in the hands of heavy modifiers - i.e., fancy exhausts, optimized air intakes, racing suspensions. If you can find one that was NOT modified, then it probably wasn't raced, and will last forever."

Raw horsepower, sheer fun!

Pros: "Fun, Fast and Furious!"

Cons: "Lacking in comfort/convenience."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"Lots of fun in a true sleeper of a car. What Pontiac/GM lacked in style and design they made up for with horsepower and torque. This car wasn't made for a winding, twisting autocross either (although it's no slouch compared to probably 90% of all other production models), but from stoplight to stoplight or out on the open road...just try and keep ahead of it. I've owned two Corvettes, a BMW M3 and a few vintage muscle cars. Not one of them could even come close to keeping up with my 2006 GTO. I guess that is why I own two of them now. Not for everyone, but I sure love mine!"

Pros: "Great price, fun to drive, high quality GM vehicle"

Cons: "no side airbags."

"These cars came on canister ship from Australia. My prior car was a Honda Civic Si. The quality of the Pontiac GTO was perfect. I loved the way the car drove. I could go on long trips, get great gas mileage and carry four passengers in comfort. Great power from the V8. Fun six speed transmission. Less expensive then current price for similar Camaro."
