"Have owned 2 2005 Grand Ams and both had a knock in the engine which turned out to be a loose wrist pin, ($1500 repairs). Other than that they both were nice cars."

Pros: "lots of power, handles well, and good overall car"

Cons: "outdated audio system,"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 7

"This car is a really good first car or daily driver. It's good on gas but still has good power. These pontiacs do have some issues as they get older though. I had to replace the high pressure power steering line, the gas tank leaks if you fill it up 100%, the e-brake on the drivers side rear wheel snapped in half and therefore locking up the wheel so I couldn't drive it. Make sure that the head gasket and intake gaskets are ok before you buy one of these cars. Lastly, don't drive like a dummy all the time because the achilles heel in these older pontiacs are the transmissions, and we all know that getting that fixed isn't cheep."

Pros: "Everything!"

Cons: "That it won't last forever"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"This 2003 Pontiac Grand Am was my very first car I got while a Senior in high school. I bought it with 36K miles on it. I could never decide a "Name" for my car so I call it 'Car' she is a girl though haha. I have now owned this car for a little over 8 years. I did not really know much about cars and learned a lot on the way. I think this is the absolutely best car ever. I have replaced the fuel pump while it was still under warranty, I replaced the starter 1 year ago and just replaced the coil pack and spark plugs besides the obvious breaks and belts that need replaced. This car has been totaled 1 time and was brought back to life because the damages cost less then the value of my car ( which valued at $8,000 five years ago at the time of the accident) This car has had a lot of things happen to it and has kept me safe through all these years. This car has needed almost nothing replaced in all the years i've owned it. Best car ever!!! Still going strong with 113,981 Miles!!! Would recommend it to anyone!"

Pros: "Fabulous ride"

Cons: "None"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I bought this car as the 3rd owner a little over 3 years ago & I have only had 1 mechanical failure b/c the ignition switch needed to be replaced. GM sent out a recall notice about having too many keys on your key ring approximately 18 months later. I absolutely love this car, even get decent gas mileage. It rides really nice on Rt 81 doing about 80 miles/hour on my way to WVa to see my g'friend's step-mom. I REALLY wish they still made them!!!"
