"Great little dependable car. At 9 yrs old it still gets 28mpg.This is my second Grand Am. This one had a better performance then my first as the bugs where worked out. I am selling only because I have bought a Saturn Vue for more room to travel in."

Pros: "potent v6 very reliable engine"

Cons: "horrible interior quality bad legroom and seats"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 4

"allot of people with think gm cars in general aren't reliable they aren't but there's something about the grand am that makes it keep going. over the years ive owned a few grand ams only one had broken down and that was around 220000 km and i was driving it to Florida but that was absolutely it reliability is very good but interior quality isn't that great back speakers haven't worked for years panel under glove box cracked and coming off buttons getting worn [expect that for an almost 10 year old gm car]and the window seals are bad i can just pull them of gas cover wont close and rims are bad still on but barely all the PLASTIC bolts are coming of only one is left. don't expect much from the seats there average not great. for a fair sized car you'd expect a fair size back seat but leg room isn't there. v6 is pretty potent its good and reliable styling you could judge for yourself i call the car a bubble because its very round. overall if you need a reliable car with not good interior quality then its a good car remember its a gm car you have to give a little [interior quality] to get a little [good engine]"

Best ever

Pros: "Sporty, fast, comfortable, and very DURABLE."

Cons: "Acceleration worthy of getting speeding tickets."

"I bought my 2002 Pontiac Grand Am GT brand new in 2001 and 13 years later, I'm finally getting ready to buy a different car. It came with all the bells and whistles at the time which were incredibly ahead of their time and now just pretty ordinary. The leather seats have held up to kids and pets and more and still look great. The only major car repair was the head gasket, and that was replaced when she had just turned 13. Everything held up perfectly all this time except some minor things like the volume button on the steering wheel and cruise control finally conked out a few months ago. Even though I admit I didn't do all the maintenance I should have, she has run and run and is still pretty good to go for the next person who gets her. I will miss her dearly."

Pros: "low initial cost and low upkeep."

Cons: "Wish it had power windows."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"I bought this car as a step down for economy. We bought it used 4 years ago. We have had only one problem over the four years, and that was the coil pack on the engine dropped 2 of the 4 cylinders. Had it repaired for around $600 dollars at the dealer and its been great since. Its not the most comfortable car on long trips but it is sufficient. Mileage has been good, about 25/34. Its starting to show some wear now but still runs great."
