2004 Pontiac Bonneville SLE

"So I have owned more than 50 cars in my lifetime. Many new and way to many used. I am a big guy, so I prefer a bigger solid car (or truck). I have found many comfortable vehicles, such as Lexus LS, Toyota Avalon, Lincoln Town Car, Cadillac DeVille, Crown Victoria..even my Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited had Awesome Seats. Here's the thing about this car, It is SOOOOO comfortable. Like sitting in a recliner. It handles very well, Has plenty of power and the trusty old 3800 Series 2 is undeniably one of the best motors this country has used. The trunk is enormous and the back seats are just as comfortable as the front. The driver's side dash looks like the cockpit of an aircraft of some sort, but very well laid out. Gas mileage is very respectable. I found mine as a one owner, with original window sticker and car fax proved every single oil change and maintenace was done right. This car without question will last another 100,000 miles. I will continue to drive this vehicle until it is no longer financially viable to keep, then look for another Pontiac Bonneville or Buick LeSabre (same vehicle more or less) because the people who bought these cars maintained them, did not abuse them, and they will run forever. (by the way I am a guy in his 40's and this particular car is not an old person's car!!) If you have an opportunity to buy one, by all means do it without hesitation.!!"

Pros: "Sporty, good gas mileage, great for a family of 4"

Cons: "Not reliable, to upwards facing of a back seat"

"We bought this car in 09 for $5000 and named it Bonnie. It was good up until the end of 2010. The transmission needed repaired and the interior lights and driver rear door completely stopped working and the headliner and sun roof padding started to fall. We decided since the family was getting bigger we needed a newer, bigger car. So we went out and bought a 2014 Ford Flex and its name is Flexie. We got $2000 for trade in for it so it wasnt that bad."

One owner. Well taken care of. Drives great!

Pros: "Great gas milage, Fun to drive, Classy looking car"

Cons: "None!"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"Bought this car in Texas a year ago and have put almost 40,000 miles on it, with the exception of replacing tires and rear factory air shocks this car has been trouble free! Drives like a sports car, gets great gas milage and is a real joy to drive on long trips. This is the SLE model with all of the bells and whistles except for the heads up display option. This is the third front wheel drive pontiac i have owned including a 2006 Grand Prix GTP (which sits in my garage most of the time) Thanks Pontiac !!!! (i wish Pontiac was still being made)"

I Love my Bonneville - GM should still make them

Pros: "Comfort and dependabliity"

Cons: "Typical GM "flaws"-LowerIntake gaskets-plenum-Dexc"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I bought the car used, 8/2013 with 58K miles on it. It had the "typical" GM problems. 1)failed Lower Intake Manifold Gaskets 2)DexCool coolant 3) Failed plenum due to poor EGR design. Had the failed parts replaced and the cooling system flushed. GM fixed the design flaws in the 3800 starting in 2007. We've put 17K miles on the car without a single problem after the "typical" GM problems were repaired. The car rides and drivers like a dream for an old man and an old car. I love my old Bonneville. I wish GM still made it. GM doesn't make anything in the 2015 models that my wife and I can easily enter or exit. The only reasons the car doesn't get 10's all the way across are the 3 design flaws and the lack of cup holders (petty complaint), small glove box (petty complaint), and the decrease in rear leg room from the 92-99 Bonneville. We put 305K original miles on the last Bonneville we bought new in 1991. It doesn't run any more because a "mechanic" "repaired" a bad throttle body."
