"People say it is ugly and weird. It loses its value quickly.I think it drives just fine. It lasts. The gas mileage gets 20 mpg average. It has an option to fold down the seats and add a tent and sleep in it. If you like camping but prefer to stay off the ground then that is a plus."
"I love the Azteks so much my husband and I EACH have our own. Bought them both brand new (have a 2003 and a 2005). Got great low prices on them since people in general did not like the way they look; dealers wanted to move them out. My 2005 has not been a headache - nothing weird happening maintenance-wise, just routine wear and tear. I commute 48 miles one way with it, and I've gotten as high as 28mpg. It just keeps going and going! The cargo capacity is great, especially when the rear seats are either folded up or removed. I LOVE the stereo that came with it. The sliding rear cargo tray is a neat accessory that makes using the rear storage area that much easier and convenient. Cup holders AND accessory power jacks everywhere. Easy to get into and out of; great view of the road since you're sitting higher than in a sedan."
"I bought my '04 Pontiac Aztek Rally Edition brand new, with 4 miles on it. It's now 2015 and it's still kicking! It has seen it's share of minor issues, or recalls, but other than that, it's been extremely low maintenance. This past year, the whole cluster panel (odometer, speedometer, rpm, and gas gauge) have slowly gone, but I found someone to fix it. Need to get it done. I've kept up with oil changes, tire rotations, and basic maintenance. I have new shocks on the rear and new struts on the hatch (which work WONDERFULLY) I have put up with a LOT of abuse with people making fun of my "ugly car", but my "ugly car" is now 11 years old (more likely 12), and both the body and interior look almost new. It will break my heart when it dies. I have an emotional connection to this car, probably from having to justify it to those nay-sayers. :)"
