"I purchased my '97 Plymouth Breeze from a private dealer 4 years ago and the car has been very reliable, reasonable to fix, and comfortable to drive. It is coming time for me to move on from this car, but I am very pleased with my decision to purchase this car and would again if I had to do it over again."

Pros: "Performance, Spacious Interior, reliability"

Cons: "Gas Mileage, Trunk Space, Ergonomics"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I've had the one Im reviewing for 1 year and besides normal maintenance and repairs, it's been a great car. The car has been dependable and gets my family anywhere. I've had three of them and they've all done well. I even sold one to a family member who still drives it today. Handling is secure. The ride can be jittery. Gas mileage is so-so. Power is sufficient as long as you don't get the base 2.0L engine with the automatic. You can usually pick up a low mileage model fairly cheap. It reminds me of my 1990 Accord I had before. Spirited performance, reliable, cheap to repair (for the D.I.Y.), and large interior.I would recommend this car to people who need a nice daily driver or for a teenager learning how to drive."

Pros: "nice to drive the first few months i had it"

Cons: "expensive parts, front end issues"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 1

"i purchased this car with 132000 miles, and was running like a dream! i would see myself paying an arm and a leg every couple weeks for a bad part, this car had ALOT of front end problems with brakes, tires and power steering.... almost not worth it to pay for the expensive parts! i do not reccomend this car."

Pros: "Nice, Roomy, Comfortable Interior, 30+MPG, Looks!"

Cons: "Bad Front End Design,Pricey Parts,Replacing Often"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 6

"Purchased for $1,000 Around 2004 with 143,000 Miles... Now Has 248,000+ Miles! Yep! You Read That Correctly!... The Good = 30+ MPG. Comfortable Roomy Interior & Good Looking Exterior with Great Layout. Dependable!..... The Bad = Very Poorly Designed Front End. Parts Wear Out Too Quickly & are Expensive to Replace!..... Though Mine is a 5-Speed, I Drive Conservatively but am on my Third Wore Out Front End. Therefore, Handling Suffers Greatly and Cannot Keep Alignment, Tires or Brakes on it...The Brakes Warp within couple months... I know how that sounds but Trust Me, I baby it & do not ride my brakes..... As With Others, Paint is Fading on Trunk & Hood but Not Roof & Peeling only on Drivers Rear Quarter. Easy Fix!... Timing Belt Replacement is Mandatory every 60,000mi and is an expensive pain. I found this out just 10 Days after buying as the Timing Belt Snapped, Bending 2 Intake Valves. What a Nightmare!..... The Clutch is Pretty Much Wore Out and Warped. Engine Still Runs Well But Smokes a bit & is starting to Drink Oil..... Bottom Line = Ya might think I would hate this car but I'm honestly having great difficulty parting with it because I'm not aware of any other vehicle of this size, room & comfort with 30+ MPG!!!...More like 33MPG Average.. It is a Genuine Love/Hate Relationship!... My Struggle is, how wise it is to keep a Vehicle with good gas mileage when I spend more on parts than I save on Gas! I still consider fully rebuilding it but cost is an issue and am unsure if it's worth doing..... Plus something tells me the 4th FRONT END would not last any longer than the other 3... Very Poor Construction! If not for these issues, it would be True Love!"

Pros: "Excellent value, 33 MPG, fun to drive"

Cons: "Clear coat and paint peeling and faded"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 8

"In October 2011, I bought a 98 Breeze for $500 with 135,000 miles. The poor thing was severely abused by the owner I bought it from, despite that, it still got me the 50 mile round trip to and from work every day without any problems for many months until I had the money to perform repairs and replace old and worn out parts. I gradually put about $1500 into it, and it was the best money I ever spent. For that total amount,I fixed the valve cover gasket, tuned up the engine, replaced the alternator, battery, spark plugs, ignition coil and wiring, and all 4 tires. IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT. It now runs like a brand new car, and I expect it to last for many years to come. BOTTOM LINE: If you do the proper service and upkeep, it's an awesome car to have."
