I own this car - My approximate mileage is 186,000overall rating 9 of 10rating details
Pros: "Low cost of ownership. Solid construction. Roomy."
Cons: "High weight and gas consumption."

"Bought this car for $5k in 2000. Been driving it ever since. All of the standard issues happened around 100k mark. New steering pump, new radiator pump, new brakes. Transmission rebuilt around 150k, as well as a catalytic converter replaced. Small electrical issues here and there with connectors rusting up, requiring cleaning. All 4 speakers had to be replaced one by one. Leaks about 1L of oil between scheduled changes (out of 4.5L total 10w30), which is nothing for an American car over 20 years old. Very roomy. Easy to get out of passenger side if parked too close to obstacles. Lots of cargo space. The only part that has developed rust is the exhaust pipe. The rest of the body is completely rust free. Good quality metal. 1.6 tons of it ensure SUV-like gas consumption, which is the main negative. The weight results in a lot of momentum. It's a sedan that drives (and brakes) like a tank. ABS will be kicking in quite often if you're not gentle with the pedal. Will own it for as long as it serves me. Will hate to see it go."

"i BOUGHT MY 95 ACCLAIM IN 2000 FROM ITS ORIGINAL OWNER, MY OLDER NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOOR... IVE HAD IT 11 YRS NOW, AND THE CAR HAS BEEN THE BEST IVE EVER OWNED. I BOUGHT IT AT 86000 MILES, AND I HAVE 135000 ON IT NOW. 50,000 MILES IN 11 YRS. THE ONLY THINGS IVE HAD TO REPLACE ARE A RADIATOR, FUEL PUMP, AC COMPRESSOR. I PUT A BRAND NEW PAINT JOB ON IT LAST YEAR, AND PUT SOME WHITE LETTER PERFORMANCE TIRES ON IT... WITH SOME NICE 5 STAR RIMS ALONG WITH A LIMO WINDOW TINT... BEST LOOKIN ACCLAIM IN THE SOUTH! IT HAS BEEN VERY RELIABLE, SAFE, DEPENDABLE.... LOVE MY LIL ACCLAIM!"

"Good starter car. Had a little problem with the head gasket but after taring it all apart and fixing the head gasket it has been a good car. - I have the 2.5. The 3.0L(V6) were better built motors but they still have there problems like all cars."
