Really great minivan. Wish they still made them!

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 110,000

Pros: "Has held up real well for over 100,000 miles."

Cons: "Has some road noise and rides rough."

"Very few complaints, mostly minor. Like the orange shift selection light that looks like it is warning about something instead of just showing which gear you are in. Not enough storage cubbyholes in the dash for small items. Otherwise, it has been a great car and I wish I could get another one just like it, but with less than 40,000 miles so I could get it under extended warranty up to 100,000 miles."

I own this car - My approximate mileage is 146,000

Pros: "lots of opps, well maintained, fairly priced"

Cons: "hard to see over Captain's seat head rests"

"I got her in 2009 with about 86000mi on her. I have done my best to keep her well maintained and plan to do some more work on her to prepare her for sale. In 4 years, I have put brakes, a rear windshield wiper motor,periodic oil changes, a few rear light bulbs and couple front ones, a new rear taillight assembly and new tires all around and couple air filters. Except when I accidentally wore down the battery, she starts every day, radio, cd rear backup sensors,power seats and power pass. door work fine. Power window motors are a little sluggish esp on driver's side. AC needs refurbishing and rocker panels need work as well as the heated seats but all in all, she has been very reliable with nothing gone wrong that would affect her drivability. The only reason that I am choosing now to sell her is that I recently got a Worker's Comp settlement and figured it was my last chance for possibly several years to trade up to a 2007. One of the finest vehicles I have ever owned in 40yrs."

Not too bad just has a lot of misc issues

Pros: "24MPG OR ABOVE"

Cons: "Endless electrical issues"

"Replaced head gaskets at 145,000 fuel pump and level sensor 146,000 AC doesn't work, heated seats gave it up, automatic doors aren't automatic anymore. The biggest problem this vehicle seems to have are electrical. EX that power supply from the fuse block to the head light switch had to be replaced, the computer keeps throwing odd alarms every now and then. Oil change light will not reset. BUT IT DRIVES LIKE A DREAM AND COSNSTENTLY GET 24 MPG OR ABOVE!"

"I have owned more than 50 vehicles in my life, and the Silhouette is by far the most comfortable and reliable I have ever driven. Almost 185000 miles and no major repairs of any kind, just regular maintenance. Gets over 30 mpg on the highway and averages about 25 mpg overall. If they still made these, I would buy a new one."

D-I-Y Silhouette GLS Cash-car review

Pros: "You don't have to walk or ride the bus. :-D"

Cons: "I put alot of money into it. Time to resell."

"Bought a 99 Silhouette for $1,400 at 245k. Replaced 'everything' around the engine(hoses, pumps, gaskets, radiator...etc). Engine is from an 02 Venture when purchased. Just needed a transmission. It rides good enough- now. Leather seats are torn up, hatch has seen better days and doesn't latch(tied down), ABS is malfunctioning. temp and compass read error. Leaking power steering(slow)rack n pinion are shot. I like them though. Owned a Venture before and getting another one very soon. Great learning experience for a high mileage vehicle!...as well as OHV engines being easier to work on, in my opinion. Go GM for being simple."

great mini-van

Pros: "great van for the money"

Cons: "do not make them anymore"

"owned now for 8years,just replaced the struts and rear air shocks put the nice ride back in it. everything has held up well, paint looks good interior looks like new.18 to 20 mpg city,25 to 28 hwy, no problems in all these years just normal maintence"
