Pros: "AMAZING SUV"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"This is an SUV, not build for luxury or extreme comfort. However, This is the best built SUV going. I have had mine 13 years, with 223,000 miles and I have been never disappointed in my trucks performance. She is just starting to have issues, oil tank leaking (rotted), slipping transmission; for that mileage I can't complain. I have taken her on beaches, Mountains trails made for 4-Wheelers, in all weather conditions and never had an issue (with the correct tires). I highly recommend Nitto Grappler tires, you will NEVER get stuck or be disappointed in any weather, or road / off road condition. She has been up & down the East Coast. I have been re-ended twice and not a dent, cars that hit me were totaled; she is a tank! 2005-2010 is a completely different SUV; different frame, different ride, lots of serious issues; I do not recommend these years. I wish Nissan stuck with the original X-Terra; same frame, body, shocks and over-all built"

Pros: "emphasis on taken care & thourough understanding."

Cons: "Wider field of view when backing down boat ramps."

"I've pulled more stuck vehicles from snowbanks, mud or out of a driveway do to ice buildup.Love my Xterra. Runs well in or out of four wheel drive. She's done me well, however, cold as this statement is "I'm trading her in for a younger gal." I'm giving her back with new tread, starter, battery, coolant change, hoses, belts, gaskets and leak free!!!"

Pros: "Handling, ride comfort, visibility, options, seats"

Cons: "steering, horsepower, gas (I can care less)"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I bought my X early this year and I've had Nissans in the past but never a suv. Nissans are very reliable like any Japanese car. Any car can be reliable, people tend to drive their car hard, hence, why it doesn't last long. It has over 110xxx miles on it, it has little things I needed to do like alignment, new tires, starter, and tune up. Other than that, it runs like new. Its been reliable to and I drive it carefully. I love the design of it and they don't make anymore body-on-frame vehicles anymore. This thing is solid and I feel safe in an accident. It really easy to maintain yourself if you know what you are doing. I love the way it rides and how it takes the bumps. It has good clearance. I wish the horsepower was more than 180 BUT it is a suv so why need all the ego? The gas is mediocre but if your not trying to race it, it'll give you decent mileage. I don't care about the gas consumption. Anyways, it's a good commuter suv and the VG3300 series engine are bullet proof. They don't make these engines like these anymore. I'd buy another Nissan product."

Pros: "See review"

Cons: "Only one - gas mileage."

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 10

"I love my Xterra...wanted the 2000 but did get the 2001 X-car. Yes, it's a 'truck', but it is the best car I've ever owned. It occasionally snows/freezes where it resides, and has always gotten me where I want to go. I've NEVER been stranded because of weather. It's the other drivers I have to watch out for! Just finished a 3,000 mile road trip & it ran like a new car! Unlike so many with ultra high-end 4wds, this car has been off road, back country, mud/sleet/hail/snow and 4' snow drifts - it has gotten dirty! Looks beautiful inside and out. My husband keeps it waxed and armor-all'd. Although we've never 'named it', it is our baby! Gas mileage is poor, but I don't care."

Pros: "Good looking fun capable affordable"

Cons: "Gas power engine knock sensor"

Likely to recommend this car? (1-10): 9

"Well my experience has been very good, no mechanical issues. This car in general has been plagued with a bad engine knock sensor, my X is no different, this can cause a smog failure in states that smog. Now lets get to the good stuff, do you want to drive up a rocky mountain road meant for jeeps? search no further. The X-terra will go anywhere, I myself just drove to Canada and Alaska and back (11,000 miles) with no maintenance except for 1 oil change in Fairbanks. This car got me above the arctic circle. The gas is the only issue with the car, SHE IS THIRSTY. Expect 18-20 mpg hwy I was doing 16 mpg on the trip due to that she's lifted on 33's and a FULL roof rack. 4X4 3.3 v6 automatic. If your are thinking "I want to do cool stuff in my life" get this 4X4 SUV TODAY"
